My new Strider SNG......Interesting.

Your SNG looks similar to the one I sold and miss.
Boy does that small look tiny. I see you chose the butter knife blade shape ;). You need to upgrade to a large 21 regular blade. The blade is the bomb.

I don't agree.....From looking at both, I am sure the 25 could hold up as well as the Strider....but are most owners of Sebenzas willing to use them that hard?

But why do you feel that the Strider is so much stronger then the Sebenza?

Hmmm, thicker stock with a taller blade and thicker tip is really all. I know you got your 25 at around the same time and the same way as I did. I don't baby mine at all ;)

What I want to see is spine views of the SNG or SMF next to other over built knives to compare like TST, Burke, ZT 0550.
Anybody have a picture like that?

Yeah the wharncliffe has a super thin tip that i am not too crazy about...but for what i use it for (office work :D) it is nice.

The 3V blade is the bomb. Its my favorite at least. Just need to find an SMF in 3V.

Thats the thing about CRK's...you never really get to experience the other awesome steels out there.

ZT 0561, Spyderco Tuff, and an SmF.
More of a tip than a spine shot.

Knife sherpa. I have not tried the 3V from them, but I did have the PD1 and it was not the hardest stuff, but some of the toughest stuff I have ever used. BTW the only time I am in the office is to get a written warning ;).

Thanks for the pics Stabman.
Those blades are all very similar with the tuff and smf being the thickest.
It has been a year since I owned a ZT. And this reminded me I wanted to try a tuff for the longest time. Do you think I can rent that thing for a week?
BTW what is the giant busse looking sword on the couch?

Can't let the Tuff out of my hands...I really like that knife. :)
The sword is a Rodent Waki.

That TUFF is like an ugly girlfriend that really knows what she is doing and works hard at it but man is she rough on the eyes. Did you have to learn to love her?

That Waki is Whacky.
I can see right through the blurriness in the back ground. Currently i am in the market for a good fixed blade to got with my EDC for camping this spring.
Didnt realize you were up in Canada. It would take forever and a half for that thing to make a round trip any way I bet if customs didn't keep it!
I realize after owning many frame locks. The main thing I do not care for is a steel lock bar face. I dont know why, just prefer the titanium all day.

Kinda glad I saw this thread, I was tossed between an SNG and Sebenza 25. In the end I went with a Sebenza 25, blown away by it, only issue is I need a small one now.

I was able to handle my first Strider at the Gateway knife show a few weeks back, I was impressed.

It was really comfortable to grip and was better made than I had thought they might be based on the posts around here over the years.

Comparing the Strider to a CRK is not really fair to either knife, both have their merits.

If you offered up either the Strider or a full sized Sebenza, I would take the CRK all day long, but subjective on my part.

If I had to use the knife with gloves on all day it would be a different story.

best

I think some are missing my point. I really like the knife and it will be solidly in my knife rotation, and plan to carry it daily for a few weeks. I have been carrying my CRK 25 before this and between the two will be "the" rotation. There is really nothing about the SNG that I do not like. After paying $440 for the CRK and $400 for the SNG, I think anyone that has or has them can understand my value comments.

I guess I am not 'anyone'......

I find a Strider is worth the money hands down.
My latest SMF is smoother then any Seb I have owned, or used.
The steel holds it's edge MUCH better. I find Strider HT second to none.
The ergo's are miles better.

Now I am taking my turn for at a useless comment.

Strider's have personality, take that for what it's worth.
While a CRK is an excellent knife, it's damn boring.

$440 for two straight slabs of Ti and S35VN can hardly be considered 'value' over an SnG.

It comes down to what floats your boat for what are both, in all reality, over-priced knives.

Read it again Matt!

I like them both, I was responding to an observation with an observation.

I hate that Strider is always not 'worth the money' but 'CRK' is...

Fact is, neither is really worth the money, but I am tired of this conversation usually being one sided.

Just enjoy what you like, for what YOU are willing to pay for it, that's the only measure of value in a knife.

Again. I didn't start the comparison, but I don't mind throwing in my $0.02...

Just teasing you, I read it rite the first time. I still love your first response, that was spot on and relaxed like usual you.
I don't think it is one sided at all. Both are great and have nothing in common.
All this talk and you still did not post a picture, that is all im waiting for.
One thing is for sure. Knife folks sure are passionate!
