My Son died this mornng.

I am sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your wife.

I've seen the effects of alcoholism up close. Beating it is hard, and there has to be a desire on their part to do it. If the desire is not there, there is not much that can be done, at least in my experience. May you and your family find peace. May your son now be at peace.

All I can do is share my experience with this disease. I'm glad it helped there's so much more I wish I could do. I would be more than happy to talk privately if you think that might help shed some light on this darkness. Feel free to pm me to exchange #'s or just to message chat off of the boards. Everyone struggling with this disease has there own story and circumstances but as different as they are they're all very much the same.

I'm sorry for your loss brother. Sometimes we try everything we know to do but often times its not enough. A man has to want to help himself before we can really help him. God bless and keep you and your family.
 
Drug and alcohol addiction are really troubling. If you don't do either, you "think" that all a person has to do is "say no". Apparently it doesn't work like that. They have to really want to beat it. I feel for your loss.

Even though we've never crossed paths, probably not even here, you have my deepest sympathy for your loss.
I lost a friend to the disease, and have a brother that's fighting (and hopefully winning).
As a father, wow, hard to imagine.
