I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I don't think it's YOUR rep that is going to be damaged at all in this thread ;) seeing as how things are progressing... let us know how the claim goes!

+1. I'd wheel and deal with you any day.

You seem to have a lot of interest in me. Why is that?
I'm interested because while this is going on another transaction with member from here has a member of a group I'm in holding a stack of pennies instead of a knife he was to receive in trade. That is what I was looking into when I found this.
I'm disabled and was an Air Force Security Specialist in Air Base Ground Defense. I guess I've got nothing better to do. What's your story?

Oh, it's what moderators do here. If you cannot contribute, refrain from posting. Being so new here, you wouldn't want to get in trouble by being overly opinionated now. You would do well right now, sit sit back, relax, and simply read. If you absolutely need to share your thoughts, do it in a way that does not incite people.

True it doesn't but I was questioned. I answered. I have a right to voice my opinions. Just because I'm new to this forum doesn't mean I should keep my mouth shut or simply side for one person due to rep or longevity.
Techno could have joined that other group but he chose to tell a candied up version here when told about it.

Techno,

Since the seller has outed himself and is bad mouthing you on here now as well, I suggest you open a dispute with paypal for the item not being as described. If he doesn't trust you you shouldn't really be trusting him either. Let paypal take care of it, they will force him to refund you one way or another.

You do have the right to voice your opinions, BUT:
NOT on privately owned forum
NOT when it incites and derails the topic
NOT when you have no facts to base your accusations on "new guy"
I have an idea to make things clearer for you though.

I offered to give him a refund once i received back the knife!!!! He refused!!!!!! Can you read this now?!?!?!?

Actually you wrote, you would refund the money provided you could verify the knife was not used, damaged, or in a condition other than which it was sent. That is fine, but the issue of lock rock would disqualify a refund (you said it had none, he says there is some). People might have read it had it not been for the person cheerleading for you, he isn't doing you any favors by the way.

I'm not asking a single person to be in my corner, and I have no clue who that guy is! I offered a refund after getting it back, he refused! This is total crap right now!

Even this administrator agrees the knife should be returned first!

I'm merely a SuperMod herding all you cats to safety, but thanks. It might actually be better getting Payal involved, that way you can have a resolution that is unbiased one way or the other.

If his only issue is supposed blade play, then why not accept to get the knife fixed as I offered! Buyers remorse, plain and simple!

And why wouldn't I want to get it back first to confirm the issue and make sure it hasn't been tampered with?! That is not unreasonable!

Did any of you here even read the screenshots I've provided?! Or is this pretty much all his buddies?

I don't know either one of you, but I did read the screenshots that you provided.

My understanding is that it is board policy that both parties must be satisfied, or the deal is not complete. I agree completely with that policy.

It is obvious that one party is not satisfied.

Were it me, and I had asked for a refund only to find out that the seller refused to refund my money until he/she received the unsatisfactory item, I would immediately file a paypal claim. I see that course of action - given the refusal to refund without first receiving the knife - as my only course of action that protects me from further harm.

Were I the seller, and was asked for a refund, I'd have issued the refund immediately and requested that the knife be shipped back with insurance and signature confirmation (which I would pay for). I'd assume that since the buyer had paid me upfront for the knife, I should do the same if it was to be returned to me. I would also assume that the buyer could be trusted to send the knife back to me, since he/she had paid for it upfront (and thereby trusted me to send them the knife).

That's just the way I'd go about it.

I'm not taking sides and have no way of knowing who is, or who isn't, wrong. I only know what I'd do if I were in either position.

RevDevil: Can BladeForums, please make the above quote a "Sticky" for all member's to abide by? ;)

As for you, Sandman, due to YOUR actions, I can completely empathize with Techno, for not trusting you! This is the type of transaction, where as a buyer, you worry that the other party will manufacture new damage to the knife in question.

PayPay typically deals very fairly, in cases like this...this one is a no brainer!
