Is an administrator going to only moderate comments in Techno's favor?! If that's the case, then I'll just not bother pleading my case further due to bias.

I also have no history with either party here. But I can say that as a seller on Ebay, if a buyer was unhappy for any reason, I issued a refund before I got the merchandise back in hand. I feel it's the more honest way to handle the situation, and it also keeps a war from erupting. I will give anyone the benefit of the doubt, and trust them completely until they give me a reason not to. This buyer I'm sure is not in the habit of buying $500 knives just so he can damage them and send them back, he has a long history of positive feedback. In this case, I see no reason why the seller wouldn't have issued a refund before the knife came back to him.

If his only issue is supposed blade play, then why not accept to get the knife fixed as I offered! Buyers remorse, plain and simple!

Because who wants to buy a knife then ship it to the maker and wait one two three four five six months for it to come back?

He didn't pay $500 for a preorder.

Maybe if you offered to pay for repairs AND refunded $75-$100 for sheer hassles?

If I were him I wouldn't even want the knife at this point anyway.

He didn't even let me get that far! I offered to pay whatever to make the knife perfect from Curtiss!!!!!

Dude you're missing the point.

Say you sold a knife and the guy wasn't happy because, I don't know, something silly like he didn't like the way it looked in person. It's still your job to refund him. An unhappy transaction isn't a completed transaction. Burning bridges is never smart. Especially in a hobby like this. Unless this guy came back one or two months after the purchase then wanted a refund ok that'd be weird.

He let you know right away. Should've been done and taken care of.

Honest, unbiased advice.

Take down your post on other sites, refund him, get your knife back, get it fixed, resell it, move forward and put this behind you.

Either way the guy is getting his $ back.

Either way that knife is coming home to you.

May as well use your energy towards a positive outcome at this point.

How you handle things when they go south will say a lot more about you than a single transaction ever will.

Childish trolling videos now?! Fabulous moderating!

Come on, didn't that video make you smile...at least just a little...or give you a greater appreciation for just how difficult a Moderator's job is, & the valuable time these threads, consume?

Maybe someday, you will be on the righteous side of the fence & need a Moderator's assistance in helping you sort out problem's that a seller precipitated due to ??? (fill in the blank).

FWIW- In the future, it would benefit you, to show a little more respect to all of the Mod's & appreciate what they contribute keeping this awesome forum running so smoothly!

It's not their fault that you didn't accurately describe the blade play in your sales thread. Next time, I suggest that you be a little more thorough & candid when describing what you are selling, & NOT defame a reputable member on Facebook (that was totally uncool).

That is not the way business is done! Return the knife, and I'll refund in full plus shipping immediately upon receipt! I'm done with this thread!

I am not going to read all of this post, but will respond to the OP's original question.

I would say to the OP that normal procedures at this stage - would be for you to send the knife back; once the seller gets it - then they should refund you. That is what PP would do anyway. Expecting a refund prior to sending it back is not reasonable. I am taking no sides on the rest of this drama.

And why wouldn't I want to get it back first to confirm the issue and make sure it hasn't been tampered with?! That is not unreasonable!

Read what I wrote again if you have to. At this point, Paypal is going to decide what will be done, no one else. Also, stop trying to put words in people's mouthes, again you need to stop digging. No one is out to get you, you are doing a bang up job all on your own. Continuing to argue a moot point is not getting anything resolved.

Has anyone seen the knife and the so called issues? Until this has happened I would assume we all know the same thing, nothing. Post a video of the issues and then we can pick sides. Kelama your doing the same thing that your calling him out for and I believe the sellers reputation is as good on the FB groups as the buyers here. Until there is some evidence then we know nothing. Also if he doesn't post a video, that goes a long way in my book.

It really doesn't matter anymore, it's in PayPal's hands. if they side with him, I still get my knife back first then PayPal releases the funds. I stand behind what I sold, it was gtg IMO.

It's a moot point- the buyer is not happy- period! Techno is not obligated to post a video...regardless, this is now in PayPal's hands, & I have no doubt how they will decide this transaction!

And FWIW- this is NOT Facebook, how dare you demean this forum by trying to draw comparisons!

This is a perfect example, why you always pay, via PayPal "GOODS!"

You are entitled to your opinion, as I am mine. 107 ++++ transactions on this forum, without any negativity, to me, speaks volumes.

Just because you're entitled to an opinion, doesn't make it a good one! #truestory brah!

^^^^
You have started contradicting your thoughts now. I think you should relax a bit, now that PayPal will instruct the buyer to do what you wanted from the start (ship first, and then refund). If you re-read all your posts, notice you come across as a hot-headed, my-way-or-highway person, a trait not conducive to bladeforums. Just put it behind, and move on -- enjoy other things this forum has to offer. This is a friendly advice, nothing more, nothing less.
