Need to lose some weight....who's with me?

The day FINALLY came! After 10 weeks of dieting, I managed to step on stage 21lbs lighter (from 182, down to 161)! The competition was tough, and I didn't manage to place, but I had an awesome time for my first competition, and I'm looking forward to competing again, maybe in the fall. Now for the weight loss/transformation pics:

Edit: I'm a natural competitor FYI (No Drugs, EVER!):)

Congrats on making it to your competition and for dropping 21lbs in 10 weeks. We all know that sounds a lot easier than it really is. Even though you didn't place, you accomplished more than most. Keep up the good work! It's motivation for the rest of us.

Good job regardless of not placing. I don't know what they look for in those competitions, but it's obvious you've been working hard.
Thanks for all the advice you've given me too. Fitness is fun.

Thanks guys! A few of the other competitors had a bit fuller, more developed muscles than I do, and I think the judges were looking for that lean, but slightly bigger look. I had a blast tho, and couldn't be happier with the progress I made, and physique that I brought. The timing coincided perfectly with this post, from start to finish, so I thought I'd share my progress and results :) For you guys that are still on that grind, stick with it. Give yourselves one cheat meal each week, and every other day stick to the macros you set for yourself. If you're unfamiliar with determining macros, Google tnation carb cycling... they have a good article on it. Keep shredding, hogs and hoggettes ;)

Savage,
Great job. Thanks for sharing.

Lora,
Great to see you last weekend and keep up the work. You look great and I'm sure will achieve your goals soon.

:D:D

Checking in to see how everyone is doing. I hope all of you are still chugging along with your weight loss. I hit the gym last night and weighed myself for the first time since before the show and I was very pleasantly surprised. I have lost another five pounds, I'm down a total of 17 pounds so far. I'm really happy because that puts me a few pounds below a number that I never ever want to see again.

How is the weight loss going for all of you?

Gained 2 lbs since the first week of April. April has been a rough month for me, 2 birthdays in the family, Easter and Easter candy. I weighed in this morning and I'm actually surprised I only gained 2 lbs. I've been eating poorly lately.
I'm getting back on track next week.

Keep it up Lora, sounds like you are still doing great.

:D:D

Keep going! I stumbled across a little piece of inspiration earlier this week and I really like it.

The only person you have to aim to beat is who you were yesterday.

Here's a little more motivation to help everyone along.

This is my first check in since... February!? Oh gee time flies.

Overall nothing has changed, but I should still be able to get back to the first hole before Blade, one good month of moderate exercise and controlled eating should do that.
At this point I'd say I'm pretty much out of the running for the new hole in the belt goal.

There's no need to give up on your goal. Just because you aren't doing as well as you anticipated doesn't mean that you won't get there. This just gives you a chance to start again and be better than you were before. Keep up the good work.

Has anyone else tried kinesiology tape? I'm trying some for my knees starting today and I was wondering if any of you had given it a shot yet. If you have, what have you thought? Do you like it? Do you hate it?

In late, but I like the thread. I've dropped over 16 lbs. since January 1st, no exercise, but watching my caloric intake with the MyFitnessPal app on my phone. Just tells you what kind of crap we are all dumping into our bodies. Still not eating the healthiest, but I am targeting 1,800 calories per day. Sometimes I make it, sometimes I don't, but so far it's working. The exercise part is starting to kick in with cycling weather coming back. Using a Withings scale and pedometer to track my activity daily. Eye opener as well. Started at 246, January 1st. Weighed in at 229.5 this morning, and my target is 190 by July 2015. Slow and steady, and something I can maintain.

How much I eat is getting covered. Exercise is kicking in. Last thing for me is eating healthier. Good luck everyone!!!

Biggest disappointment has been my beer choices. Good God!!

I previously asked if anyone had tried kinesiology tape. I used it for every workout that I did last week and I really like it. I ran further than I have in a long time without any pain along with being about to push harder and not having too much pain when I finished. It's like magic tape! I had a few sports injuries when I was in school and in turn have had knee problems ever since, this tape makes me feel like I didn't hurt my knees too bad at all. I highly recommend it to anyone who has ever had any sort of injury. This stuff is amazing.

I just started using it a week ago but for correction of my misaligned knee. The taping is just the same way as suggested for runner's knee. Are you doing that, too? Where it straddles around the kneecap?

Compression clothing works pretty well, too, I hear. I just got a pair of compression shorts and I love them.

My doctor suggested that I start using it when I told her that I was running a lot more during an appointment for new knee pain. She recommended this type of taping. So far it's worked pretty well.

I've never tried it, but I know a lot of people who swear by rock tape. An I always wear compression pants on leg day =)

Leg day...You mean reps from Hades day, there is such a love hate relationship that comes with leg day. I love leg day so much that I've started doing it twice a week.
