Need weapon for office environment

"but save us all any condescending advise about how one shouldn’t carry a knife (while you, the super dark ops operator have tactical pens taped to your ass!!). My $0.02."

First off, if you're saying it was me that was condescending, youre wrong. Not only did i offer up 4 weapons for suggestion, but I also offered up an opinion, that would help him in not getting fired too.. all the while you gung ho types, offered up all sorts of silly ass folders, that would not only get em fired, but probably land his ass in courtroom too. Yea, you guys may be 'rebels' but youre not too bright either. Use your heads. Its an office building, not baghdad.

And whats a 'super dark ops operator' ? lol.
Yea, pack a 'j frame' in the right front pocket. YEA. Thats good advice...

I taped a delta dart to my inner calf so they wouldnt catch it in a pat down, incase i got caught. are you implying that 'super dark ops operators' do this as well? really? i didnt know. though, how do you know?
Im still wondering what super dark op is. are there not soo dark ops? lol. what about just plain dark ops. lol. Can you describe this said 'super dark op' ?

Yes - it's clowns like you!

Gentlebeings, let's try to remember what we're talking about here....

I always wear shirts w/ flapped pockets (uniform). This is what I do. Carry a pocket sized notepad, slip my BM940 into the notepad and put the pocket clip over the back of it. No prob.............

Learn how to use a kubotan. Carry one as a key chain and/or keep one in/on your desk. No one will know what it is. Just tell them it's a key chain. You pull a knife at work and you'll loose your job, minimum, and probably jail. If you use it, jail for sure, even in self defense.

I've studied edged weapons system for years and picked up a kubotan a couple years ago. You can really lay somebody out with one of those with a whole lot less legal hassles than a knife. There are a couple of books on the kubotan and also a DVD. Lean it, pratice it. It's a very powerful self defense tool.

Regards

Get a Carbon Fiber Cricket, ATS-55 serrated. Awsome little knife with a ton of Cut & Function....

Yep the Crickets are tiny, but easy to use and cut beyond their size. Some people like the thicker CF Cricket because it fills the hand better but that also means more printing chance in the pocket. A small oval print isn't that big a deal but certainly a consideration for a covert office knife.

Here is picture of the older Crickets vs. the newest thinnest cricket (middle knife). The Carbon Fiber Cricket is actually a bit thicker than the Almite version pictured in the middle left.

Sheesh, glad I don't work in your office. ;)

Seriously though, the pocket clip on a Benchmade Monochrome is absolutely puny, and pretty discreet, compared to the size of the acutal knife itself, which is pretty beefy for a 3" folder.

I've had this dilemna. The Benchmade Pika solved the problem completely for me. The clip is deep carry and not thick and obtrusive as other folders. Works perfectly if you're wearing dark pants.

Try it out at a store of you can. The knife practically dissapears IWB.

I don't feel comfortable without SOME kind of weapon on me.

If it has to be a knife, I'd suggest an Al Mar SERE 2000. Its clip enables it to be carried deep. If you then spray the clip matt dark grey (as I did), you're in stealth mode.

If the weapon doesn't have to be a knife, how about a combat cane?

Few firms would bin you for carrying an inocuous piece of health-related kit like a cane.

Have you had any episodes of back pain or sciatica, like 99% of the world has? Bingo. You're covered.

I have an Atwood Solar Arc, that is a folder without a clip. I ususally carry it in my pocket. But, when I wear scrubs, it was a different story. I asked Peter to make me a kydex sheath for it, so I could wear it around my neck. That worked perfect for me.

My Combat Elite RRF and Mike Obenauf knives have very low ride pocket clips.

Try some old lady perfume. It really keeps me away from them at work. Especially when they put it on strong.:D

read the first post again. fol is talking about knives but specifically asks about weapons that do not readily identify themselves via a pocket clip and things of that sort.

buddiee, since you've joined here conflict seems to arise in every thread you post in. are you sure its everyone else on this site?

maybe there is something else that you need to examine?

(By the way, I can get fired for getting caught bringing a "weapon" to work according to the handbook.)
That's pretty standard fare in employee handbooks/contracts/etc. these days. I carry either my Delica 4 or my CUDA EDC, each w/about a 3" blade, in my pocket, using the clip, and use each as necessary. If confronted, I can always point out that the Leatherman and other knives others carry have blades equally as long, and it's not a "weapon," but merely a pocket knife.
