Never Fear, The Northwoods Zulu Spear is Here!

I was really happy to see such a wide range in the colors and variations on cover materials in these. Turquoise, green, blue, orange, translucent and so many more. Love or hate the design and features it's exciting to see so many options spring from a single scale. KSF's vision and GEC's execution were top notch on these and although I watched them all come and go without grabbing one myself I'm positive everyone who did will be really pleased. It opens up some doors for the future which everyone can appreciate. Congrats to everyone on your new knives!

Funny story, I showed my wife the denim micarta i ordered and she HATED it. She said she never wanted to see me with that knife. So I said, OK, I'll get a different one.

This is the one I got.

That'll teach her! Ha!

I hadn't paid attention to this thread; but I happened to go to KSF (site, not store) last evening. I saw these, and quickly settled on one in giraffe bone. Unfortunately, by the time I was able to complete the transaction, it had been snatched by somebody else. Too slow this time - I hope that whoever got it gets great enjoyment from it.
I might go back for a camel bone...but probably not. (Nothing against camel bone, just not the look I wanted. My willpower is much stronger when I'm not able to get exactly what I want)

Congratulations to all who picked one of these up. The pattern is fantastic, kudos to KSF and GEC. The sunk pins on this one are a bit too deep for my tastes, but I love everything else about the knife. The blade is beautifully done. I really like the plainer style. It looks like a serious user and looks like it would be easy to pinch open. Great job Derrick.

I think so. I haven't seen them and I forgot to ask if Bill would still do them for me.

Thank you Derrick for making this knife happen. I picked up a couple... as quickly as I could. These will be my first Northwoods knives. I've seen quite a few Northwoods that I almost pulled the trigger on, but passed because they were not my cup of tea (not a fan of blade scale). The zulu was a hit for me and I think your cover offerings are amazing. I wish we would see camel, giraffe, and mammoth out of the regular GEC product line, but we don't. We are lucky that you routinely put out some unique materials on your GEC SFO's and Northwoods line.

Well, the giraffe bone got snapped up quick. Started out with a weird pricing glitch. I got this one coming... I liked the color variation. Looks a little bit like the spots on a giraffe.

Oh man... missed this one...

BTH1953... Just Wow...

I like the look of the denim micarta. Anyone have experience with this material? How does it look after a couple of years of use?

Oh so there is gonna be a stag like the video on KSF said.....AWESOME. Well guess my giraffe bone will be up for sale when I get it in a few days. Can only justify owning 1 of any pattern and gotta have that STAG!!!!

Don't feel bad about owning more than one Zulu. I have three customs and three production models. One Oeser (CPM154 and micarta), one Taber (red bone and CPM154) and one Menefee (micarta and 154CM); one antique bone Case, one ebony Case that I EDC and one Damascus Case.

Picked up a denim micarta version. Will need to decide if I keep it or my recent red linen micarta #47 Viper once it arrives as I was not planning any new knife purchases!

I procrastinated too long and missed out on the mammoth I wanted. If it comes up for sale again, it was meant to be, right? :D

Haha it's just a rule to keep my knife box from overflowing to much :)
