NEW 4.7 Thread

I love my 3.5 for the lack of jimping, lol. If I can ever trade you out of yours, hit me up redwood. And it just goes to show that no way can Guy please all of us 100% on every option, not gonna happen! :)

Having said that, I can understand jimping on a bushcraft blade. Personally, I spend a lot more time gutting and pulling hide, so I don't like anything to do with jimping for the possibility of catching gut, and then ease of clean up afterward. That probably puts me in the minority, and if the majority prefer jimping, I've got no problem with Guy going that route. Although if Guy went jimpless and one of our service providers offered it as an aftermarket service, I'd be tickled pink.

I've debated letting them go but never can!! I think the new 3.5 is gonna be a home run.

Any others waiting for there factory 2nd order from 5/30? It might be time to take down the language on the site saying these will be ready to ship in 15 days.

I've just double checked, there are 3 orders remaining from the May 30th sale. The tolerances between the handles and the blades on those has been delaying delivery. I think there was a miscommunication about setting out handles that Guy needs to hand finish a bit more. I'm on it and will make sure those get taken care of tomorrow. I'm sorry about the delay on those ones. Now that the hectic June is past us we shouldn't lose track of things like that anymore.

I absolutely love my new 4.7. As you guys know, I make a lot of handles for the new spec 5.1 and 4.7 - equal amounts of both - so both knife handles are in my hands a LOT. There is something perfect about the 4.7 ergos. It just fits, every time I pick it up.

I am pretty much a suburban dad. Soccer games with the kiddo and all. I grew up in Montana, but don't get out nearly enough to the woods. I just wish I had a reason to carry the 4.7. I quite frankly don't need this size of knife except about 1 or 2 times a year. I have a small collection of pocket knives, and I have one on me every day since I was in the 4th grade. Just no need for a larger fixed blade.

Having said that, I so wish I could pop for every one in the S!K lineup, both new and older models. Something tells me that even if I did have some more, the 4.7 would still be the standout.

My Sagewood dangler arrived today :-)

I noticed that the 4.7 has been moved down into the "in production" region of the Survive webpage GSO page.
That takes it out of the "in stock soon" region, and might (fingers crossed) mean that they are near the end of their 4.7 inventory.
It might also just be a web formatting oopsy. :)
The comment behind the knife name does still say in stock soon, and it isn't down there next to the 5.1 that is assuredly sold out.

I think I moved it when setting up the presale pages and forgot to move it back. Nothing sneaky going on, just my mind playing tricks on me.

How is production on the pre-orders progressing?
