Home run clear out of the park! Think this thing looks cool and would be interested in one but not for that much.
I'd say crkt sucks. Cause they do alot of non sense. I never said that knife sucks. I mean it's weird they would make that. But not saying it sucks. It's actually interesting. Sure it's way too much money for what youe getting, but regardless of that... Never said that knife sucks. I said crkt sucks. And yea they are a low end budget brand that charges too much for its budget made knives of poor quality and gimmics to make them sell. I believe they are mostly hipsters that are running the company now. No joke. And yes they don't know how to do premium and when they try it blows up in there face. Cause that's just not them.

In any case the fact stays the same. They make gimmicks and shock value knives for people to invest into buying them.

Here is a CKRT designed by Ken Onion, built by Lion Steel, 2014 Blade Magazine Overall Knife of the Year, that was definitely worth the price. Unfortunately it was a limited production run.

I completely disagree on it being worth the price. It was just another attempt by crkt to change their status level in the knife community. It didn't work. The continued to put out low quality knives.

Did yours ever sell?

Only 200 made!

And it seems like they've already sent half of them to review sites, youtubers and other "influencers".

I was pretty excited when I first saw that they were making a high end knife with the deadbolt lock and CTS XHP, and I expected it to be between $200 and $300. I would have considered it at that price. Not for $750. This just smells like a marketing stunt to me. I've already seen videos of one of their designers hang an anvil off of a XOC and then use a 20 ton press to push one of these through a piece of wood.

I'm not sure I can collect enough pop cans at 10 cents each here in MI to save up enough $ to buy one before it sells.

WTB non-crushed soda pop cans or bottles with a 10 cent MI deposit stamp. Paying 2 cents each, you pay shipping.

That's the biggest pocket knife Gear Patrol has ever seen?

They need to get out more.

I'm not going to partake in this particular limited edition piece.

I am really surprised at how many people who are, ostensibly, "knife people" who are immediately eschewing this knife out of hand, without any hands on experience.

It is telling. Some people are just going to hate. It's how things work in 2019.

I think the knife is cool - I like the interesting lock mechanism, it has interesting styling, I like the interesting packaging.

I am a knife guy, and so I'll check anything out. I may be in the minority here, but I doubt it - the most "post prolific" haters here always have a post but I am pretty sure there are several people that don't feel the need to post in every thread that would agree.

I like knives - this looks like something I would love to coon-finger, and I bet it cuts. I have had some CRKT stuff that, while not the most prestigious knife in my collection, was cool and I will carry it a day after I carried a piece worth thousands. They all cut and most have something that is worth checking out.

I won't spend $750 on one - and we all know that is the opening price, but I might be tempted at a lower "MAP" type price.

Keep an open mind, folks. Why do we always devolve into hating before anyone puts a mitt on one?

I'll go back to fondling my Mozolic Bowie and wondering why there is so much salt in the world .

Does it have the Ruger logo or name on it?

Nope, I’m out.

And, it does not have the Charmin logo on it either. I only wipe my butt with the known quality of Charmin Quilted toilet paper.

It has no relevant correlation to the current discussion, but that's what I buy and darn it I needed to post!

I wish the knife had a Charmin logo on it!

Oh - and I carry a Ruger as an edc - so there.

The reason why a lot of people are hating on CRKT and the Knife in particular is BECAUSE were are knife people. I personally want to root for CRKT because they have interesting collaborations, because they have interesting designs and mechanism but I hate on them because they are like the quarterback who fumbles just before the end zone. Yeah, they show effort but they still lose the proverbial game in the end.
Either F&F is okay at best, Material is meh, higher end models generally seem to have issues, be it overpriced or fitment (Ti Crossbones has lockstick to name a recent example) the thing is I want to root for them I want to have them get their stuff sorted out, but it seems like they care marginally at best, so yes I hate on them.
Heck I'd totally buy a premium XOC if it was made by Reate and had a competitive price, even at 400-450$. But a 750$ made by some unknown company in an unspecified country with the logo of a brand that has a spotty record at best? No thank you. Just because the Pilar was a hit...well what was the saying about the blind chicken?
