Just got the Mora Bushcraft Triflex in. I am impressed beyond words. Think I'll have to spend the afternoon in the woods and use it some, maybe shoot a bit of video.

Don't cut your leg off.

It's a great slicer and extremely sharp. Wouldn't be too much of a problem. The best thing is that the blade is just under 12cm long, so I can legally EDC it. It rides in my pack at the moment, as a backup to my BK14.

Post the video when you're done. :)

There ya go.

I'm gonna upload some more footage of making a makeshift walking stick and a near close encounter with some hippies.

Just two words. Get one.

(Kinda reminds me of that quote "Got a problem? I got a solution for ya. Three words. Rocket Propelled Grenades." And it is so true!)

No, seriously. If you're low on money, the 511 can be had for a couple of bucks, and when I say a couple, I mean under 10. You can get the Bushcraft Triflex for about $22 shipped, or so I'm told.

I was checking some out just last night. I should go ahead and get one.

The one I was looking at is a "Swedish Military Mora Knife" for $15. 3 7/8" carbon steel blade, plastic green handle with rubber grip, etc.

check sportsman's guide - they often have that model as a "2-fer" deal. they also have a swede mil surp axe.

That's where it was. But don't see a twofer on it. There was awhile back though.

Good knife, but I've never really cared much for those Mora's. I'm more Cro Magnon or Neanderthal in mentality. I'd rather hack off limbs than carve the pupil in a chickadees eyebal, from a pine stick.

They seem to be highly praised. I have never owned one, but just ordered 2. $12 each, hard to go wrong.

my latest impulse buy from yesterday - specialized sirrus racing bike from the late '80s...seriously old skool, couldn't pass it up when a friend casually mentioned he had it for sale.
