Moose didn't threaten to kick him in the nuts. I threatened to have moose kick him in the nuts. And yeah, it was his first day here. He kept not posting pictures properly.
 
So what you're trying to say is that you wanted to cuddle with trade.
 
I love this place too.

Looking back at the last two days I see that a thread that was locked before I had the chance to assert my opinion. the opinion in the thread was certainly biased, but I felt the need to offer an opinion or validate someone's thoughts that were against the mass. I posted that opinion here so that it would be known and that noone was standing alone. To my dismay I now learn that there are currently no opinions differing that of the mass in that thread an I alone had a difference of opinion. So now slapper is an over-sensitive sandy-vag who needs be walked around on eggshells near. frack that! Although noone has said "slapper you were right" or is there record in the other thread of a any difference of opinions, I feel good knowing that I said my piece, and that I stood for what I thought which makes slapper no sandy-vag in my book.( i ben drinkin 2)
 
My parents went to Costa Rica, and I begged my dad on several occasions to bring me a machete from there. Just so you know, the cheapest machetes you can get here are chinese stainless pos's for about $25, so a good quality machete is something that I've wanted to have for a long time. So when I visited them today, he handed me a little something, telling me not to open it before I get home. Claimed it was a Costarican fish specialty. BK-2 (on which I didn't get anything done today) for scale.

I opened it up carefully on one end, and discovered something that looked like a black plastic handle. There even was some writing on it...

Yes, Imacasa.

It turned out to be a 12" machete, made by Imacasa in El Salvador.

Oh and btw, I got the job that I went to the interview for today. I'm presuming it worked out because they were intimidated by my Barlow bracelet :D

slapper, I've been playing devil's advocate in the "harden up buttercup" contingent. But I respect your opinion, and Moose and I talked about it on the phone today.
We want this to be a place where people feel like they can post freely and speak their mind, and I appreciate that you did so. It raised an important point about cliques, and one I recognize.

Yes, the guys who Chat probably are a little clique-ish. Actually, of course they are. I count myself in this group though I certainly don't Chat as much as some.
Through Chat, folks have gotten to know each other better; they've also razzed each other beyond belief and tested limits; and they've had fun together.
I would be surprised... nay, shocked... if there weren't a little bit of insider joking and language based on this social formation. It's to be expected.
You can go over to an undisclosed location here at BFC (post its name at your own peril) where a certain unnamed contingent of BFC regulars do the exact same thing. It's human nature.

However... and it's a big however... I don't think anyone is TRYING to be stand-offish. I'm proud that the folks who post here are some of the most generous, welcoming people on all of Bladeforums.
Seriously, if you don't get something that seems like a joke, ask. Maybe not in a thread, where the joking is bound to crop up some more--Barlow being a case in point.
But just shoot an email or a PM to someone. You'll get your answer, and you'll feel clued in.

We also want this to be a place where people can have fun. As Tooj said about the new Ka-Bar forum...

I've said all along, even before being a moderator, that I come to Bladeforums to have fun. If it stops being fun, I'm out of here.

All kidding aside, put yourself in their shoes, if you were doing the hire, wouldn't you want someone that was confident that they could do the job ?
Wouldn't you want to hire someone that you didn't have to worry about ?

I used to do a lot of hiring (and firing :eek:) I always looked for the intanigbles, stuff I can't teach: good work ethic, smart, conscientious, etc.

I've said it before, "If I had enough bananas, I can teach a monkey to do a job, I can't teach them to be smart and have a good work ethic.
And if they have that stuff plus the experience ... well it don't happen all that often.

My Mom picked up the mail last and she said I had something from a guy named "felix". I think that's probably them lol. I asked her if it might have said flexxx but she was confused.
