New Dual Survival Personality is no Longer a secret

Shhh! I am a quiet professional! No one knows the special government SPECOPS forces I have served with! I can't even mention it! Wait... I...

Ha ha ha...no worries Codger!

Besides, according to the guys I've deployed with, a PhD refers to "Piled higher & Deeper"...think about it...

Personally I could care less whether Dave lied about his Military service, He was probably goaded into it by the Show so they could up thier ratings anyway. He was entertaining, and to this day seems like a genuinely nice guy. I still watch his videos on youtube and as long as he keeps comming up with new useful stuff I always will.

This is how I feel about it. Lying about service is not cool and it makes him a d-bag. What also makes you a d-bag is putting a show on knowing (or being blissfully ignorant) that a dude is lying about his service. The show and network either knew something was up or didn't want to know. I don't know the details of what happened, but my instinct was that there was probably some external pressure on the network to get rid of him. They gladly profitted from him then kicked him to the curb.

But at any rate, he was a great partner for Cody. What made him so entertaining was not his supposed military training, but rather how he kind of acted like a fool and Cody had to fight to bring him back to reality. He was entertaining because he LACKED experience and common sense.

I have watched the first episode with the new guy and really wish dave were back.

How, in the name of Zeus' bunghole, does a 'degree' in "Depth Psychology" and "Holistic Therapy" translate to a PhD in Survival Skills?

I think he ment a PHD is survival skills from years of living the life style, not a real paper PHD but a figure of speech.

I watched that African game preserve video last night. Yes, Lundin did plainly state that he had a Doctorate degree, a PHD, to bolster his opinion.

I thought he did when I saw the show. PhD is for "piled higher and deeper" and that fits Cody L.

No, I'm not going to cut him a break on this kind of thing. His ego is huge.

He in fact is exactly the kind of person who would call an electrician to do work and then try to tell the electrician how to do his job, and if ignored, ask for his credentials.

It reminds me of a great George Burns comeback (my favorite comedian). When he was approaching 100 years old, a reporter asked, "To what do you attribute your long life?" George replied, "To the fact that I've haven't died yet."

That's the PhD. Not dying in the last 20 years. Wow. I'm humbled. /sarcasm off.

I watched the episode in Africa this afternoon and was very underwhelmed. The show is nowhere as good as with Dave. Too much bickering and talk about the shoelessness, I thought they got past that in the first season. I agree with earlier posts and do not think the show will make another season without some big changes.

agreed.

dual survival is becoming lame but i surely wont lose sleep over it.

It was an 'off-hand" remark to emphasize his opinion - not to state he actually has a PhD..... Kinda like anyone who makes an exaggeration ("It's a million degrees in here") to emphasize a point - something along those lines.

That was how I took it, he can be a real wisea$$ at times.

Not much going on last night, so I decided to pour a couple fingers of Maker's 46 and attempt to watch an episode of "Dual Survival."

Honestly, I couldn't even get through the opening sequence without 1) laughing, 2) realizing it wasn't supposed to be satire, and then 3) imagining another 40 minutes of that cheese-fest. I'd rather watch paint dry. At least the whiskey was pretty good.

Honestly - I tried.

I had the opertunity to watch it again, and it wasn't quite as bad as I thought. Maybe it will get better as they move forward...I'm trying to keep an open mind about it.

Agreed. I am very disappointed with this new season. I had such high hopes. We go Cody and an actual SF solider. Can't go wrong I thought! Too much focus on bickering. It seems more obvious there is a script not that I thought there wasn't one. The dramatic music has become annoying. Seems Cody has developed an attitude.

My feedback to the Disco Channel would be:

1. Lower the frequency of drama (bickering).
2. Focus more on demonstrating skills.
3. Knock off that darn dramatic music.
4. Show more cooperation.
5. Don't make it so obvious the show is scripted. At least make an attempt to fool me.

My $.02

Here ya go. You can buy Piss in a bottle.

I could put a bottle on each side of my Max. Falcon Pigmy. :D

Hate to say it, but I'm pretty much done to, I could not finish this weeks new episode, the whiny bickering between them is just to annoying.

the most recent episode was by far the worst dual survival in history..
