New Dual Survival Personality is no Longer a secret

I'm sure it's been said a thousand times but if you want serious good honest survival info then just watch Ray Mears, if you want entertainment which is geared to the general public then watch Dual survival, Man V's Wild etc.

Can you imagine how dull Dual Survival would be with Ray and Cody being all sensible and agreeing on everything, they would probably end up sitting round a campfire knitting and drinking Cocoa with a drop of rum in it....steady Ray two drops of Rum is plenty man, heaven forbid you get carried away !!!

I watched the Moon on Earth episode and found it killed 40 minutes or whatever quite nicely while I slumped on the sofa with my glass of wine.

Anyway I'm off out tomorrow to drink my pi$$ and make a one twig fire !!!!

Apart from the pee-drinking, I think Joe did quite good on the first episode.
I think I would've have tried to carry as much firewood as possible, too if I knew there was none available where I was going.
And of course it's no problem to have the knife ready the same time the show starts, I'd guess they already filmed all episodes for season 3, so he knew for at least half a year he was going to be on a TV show.

Joe Teti is a moron. He told Cody he was losing water through his feet from the salt on the ground as rebuttal to Cody's advice not to drink his own piss. That is utterly...stupendously....massively....MORONIC. God better be on our side in the war on terror if the guys we got fighting for us ain't any smarter than Joe Teti.

(below comments edited for language and rules violations by me, sorry about breaking the rules guys...)
I think you need to go somewhere else to piss and moan. What exactly you and tobii3 are fighting over, is so unclear..I don't think either one of you guys knows what your about. I do know this, your above statement is basically a big, over the top shot at an American hero.
Joe, is that. I didn't even watch the show, I caught a few minutes..but, I have more important things to do with my time most nights...like surf the internet for more steel.
Anyways, not to get all emotional, he is a living American hero, and I am sure that piece of crap Discovery channel painted a really great picture of him...(sarcasm for effect)
You don't like Cody, you don't like Dave, you don't like Joe....what dog do you have in this fight....or are you just a troll? Thats what I think you are.
This thread was about a stupid tv show, and you 2 are going on and on...stop already.
This is Wilderness and Survival, a certain level of kindness is given to each other, we listen and try to pay attention to the fact that we are typing our idea's to each other, we can seldom truly convey what we mean in this format.
continue brothers, I am done my rant.

Easy killer. I stopped posting on this train wreck at 4am Friday morning when I put him on ignore. Problem solved.

good for you, I thank you for using the ignore button, I am sure I am on a few folks ignore myself. :)
honestly...none of this stuff matters, but man, I get fired up when folks call out real hero's for their own amusement.
I am not taking sides as far as the show stands either, like I said, I only caught a few minutes, Joe could be awful on there, I wouldn't know yet...but calling him an idiot is just silly. Delta isn't silly, its smart, brave, laying down your life for freedom awesome is what it is.

Well this Teti guy may not be the most entertaining person on tv, his resume makes myself and pretty much everyone I know look like a pogues. I have tread some hard ground but I can't imagine the stuff Teti has been through, I doubt many of us can. Out of respect for his service I am willing to at least give the man a shot.

Gentlemen, Discuss the Topic not Each other.
Watch the language and inappropriate analogies, this isnt Whine & Cheese.

Failure to do so will result in the topic being closed.

HA! Epic. Best post ever. This is my new sig line.

Why was that style of blade chosen? What would be the pros and cons of it while in the outdoors or a survival situation. I am looking for answers based on functionality. .not about your Cody mancrush or how you hate the show.

You might wish to start a new thread on this particular topic. Discussing the pros and cons of this Tops knife design.

I'm assuming that when you're an idiot redneck (i.e. "real american hero" as stated above) you want the most dysfunctional, Rambo-looking knife so you can sell it easier to the common man.

He's earned the right to carry and use whatever knife he chooses with nary a comment from me. He probably knows a bit more than me, and has definitely done a lot more.

Amazing that his choice of knife can instantly relegate him to ignorant red neck status..............

I'm not certain, but I believe that knife (the Tops) is supposedly his own design and is marketed only through his own website. I don't really know if he carries that particular knife IRL of not. Since it is a very recent design, he obviously did not carry it during his military service. I have suggested that those interested in the knife start a new thread discussing it, pro or con. And the "ignorant red neck" comment was a light hearted reference to a previous post if you have not read the context.

I served in the military and from time to time I catch people lyiing about it from time to time in person, It;s usually Oh I was in the seals or or I was delta force, I just laugh it off and go about my business, Anyone who really has been SF doesn't go along bragging about it to complete strangers to make people think they are a bad a$$,Usually all you haft to do is ask them where they were stationed or where they did their training to find out they are full of it , but its weird you can spot a real one from a mile away if you've been through it yourself...Oh yea and delta force doesn't exist :D

It's interesting, when I was in the Army (early to mid 80's) I never caught someone lying about their service record. The only lying was either Vietnam vets telling war stories (they got more entertaining the more often they told them ;)) or a few "operators" who would lie about NOT being operators. They're pretty easy to pick out, and they were usually good people not to ask questions of...

Most of the guys in my stick at jump school at Ft. Benning were SEALs, although still in training, so I don't think they were fully-fledged SEALs yet, they still had to go on to HALO, UDT, etc. They were pretty tough guys to be sure.

If Joe is cut from the same cloth, I'll bet he'll be pretty entertaining once he gets used to acting.

OMG, watching these two right now, is like watching my grandparents bicker at the family Thanksgiving................

OK, i finally was able to watch this series. It's pretty easy to detect the scripted arguments for what they are. I suppose there are some genuine 'moments', but it's a well-done, well-executed script.

The survival scenarios i saw (Atacama desert and South African plains) were really interesting. It was good to see both persona's strengths being demonstrated (once the sifting through the script is complete) in different moments.

While certainly *not* a thorough place to learn 'survival' skills, it was highly entertaining.
