New GEC #13 Congress series (Clerk, Speaker Jack and Whip)

Nice American Whittlers Tim and Alchemy, they are simply gorgeous knives.

Great looking stag whittler Harry. Congratulations! I have my fingers crossed on a stag from this run. I do have a red jigged bone whittler arriving soon :)

+1'what Shock said!

Thank you very much Chris . I have what I consider better Stag on other GEC's , but I Do Not have any with Thicker Stag , or one that is any better made . I always have said that there is no Bad Stag . This is my first ever Congress and only second 3 Bladed Whittler . To me , they are a very interesting knife because of the way they are constructed. One of the earlier posters , I think 007 warns us to only open the Pen Blades after opening the Main Blade to keep them from scratching . I would also advise you to follow his good advise . Also the Sheepsfoot blade is a little proud on mine , but just barely and not a problem at all . F & F is just fine .
I will be pulling for you to get a STAG Chris and hope that you get a Whittler made as well as mine . That Red Jigged does look pretty nice .

Be well my friend !!!

Harry

Well described my friend. There's a lot of common sense in this post.

I think that your Congress Whittler is a very nice looking knife Tim . I considered ordering one after I saw them , but I had no idea who to order it from .
Congrats on your fine knife Sir !!!

Harry

Thank you Sir

My Speaker Jack came yesterday (2/27), very nicely fitted (blades centered, hafting sharp, springs flat, etc.) It has an opening and closing snap of about 5 - just right for ease of use and satisfaction of feel. GEC did a very nice job on this knife. The jigging appears to be a Peachseed style. OH

That's a knife with a lot of character OH, understated and very pleasing.

Thanks, Will

I received my first Speaker Jack yesterday and it's a great looking knife, but unfortunately with mine the main blade has almost no snap at all. The pen blade is great with pull and snap but the main is pretty much dead on the snap side of things. All other f&f is top notch though.

Gec is getting famous for shipping out knives with Polish compound stuck in the joints from the buffing table. Get some dish soap and run it under hot water working the blade for a minute or two. Dry it and add a drop of vegetable oil. Should do the trick

I see Whittlers and Speaker Jacks available. But I'm eyeing the Whip or Clerk. Anyone know when those are coming out or where they're available?

If it doesn't improve after a through clean out, and it may not, then you really should return it. Dead snap is a dead no-no on any knife. Particularly a brand-new one. You must get a replacement.

I hadn't kept up on this #13 release. I see references to an SFO from a Roy Humenick? I don't see this name in the GEC dealer list. Can anyone clue me in for future reference?

100% agree with Will's advice. Hopefully it's just gunk. Let us know the outcome please.

i was trying to hold off on any new purchases, but the northfield ebony speaker jack just spoke to me -- aptly named, quickly purchased!

Lol! Ugh you are too right brother. Almost regret pulling the trigger early on the red jigged move... Almost ;)
