New Kershaw Blurs...

Got mine ordered. Having trouble deciding if its gonna be a user. I'm not big on safe queens but according to Kershawguy these are pretty limited.

My Kershaw Blur BlackWash Elmax 1670BWBR and Stonewash Elmax 1670SWBR should be here early next week. These are pretty limited in quantity so get them soon.

Dang it! I just ordered the SW version from Dave so I'd have both.

Thanks for lightening my wallet! :D

Hi Guys,

The Elmax Blurs are an exclusive from Moteng North America, a company that I work for.

There are about 1,000 total, we started shipping them to your dealers last Thursday.

We are now completely sold out of the Stonewash version and are getting low on the Blackwash version.....I thought they would all be gone by yesterday.

The grinds are lovely, the finishes are excellent and the Dark Brown Earth anodize is like a dark copper color, slightly metallic looking.

Best Regards,

Woo.. Got my authorization email now.

And now the real fun... Sit on it as an investment, or enjoy the heck out of it....

I pre ordered one of each, but only received the authorization email for the blackwash. Cool with me, haven't picked up a blackwash yet. It'll be a user for me, definitely.

Ordered a blackwash one yesterday. Saw a post on FaceBook from a shop getting them in stock and that was the first I heard of it. As I'm sure the rest of you do, I started scouring the internet for more info and found this thread. Didn't realize it was going to be so limited and am glad I snagged one!

I know it's the first Blur in Elmax, so the collectible reasoning is definitely sound, but I highly doubt these will be the last Blurs made in Elmax either. If you can swing it maybe get 2, use one and keep the other as an investment?

Interestingly enough, these are only the second Kershaw knife to use Elmax. Just ask Steve (kohai999) ;) The 3550 was the first. These were awesome in hand when I played with them at Blade.

The Kershaw Speedform 3500 was the first Kershaw to use Elmax in the blade. The blade was a composite of Elmax for the cutting edge and CPM-D2 for the spine. Gorgeous piece with full titanium handles and FrameLock. At the 2009 Blade Show it won the American Made Knife of the Year. Only about 250 were made. It's the middle one in the picture below surrounded by the Speedform 3550.

Always a great day for a blur, they are a great knife. Unfortunately you can't stop at just one and they multiply quickly.

It took me a while to get my first blur as well, but it didn't take long for one to turn into several! I have the Elmax blackwashed version coming from our best friend and knife pusher, Kershawguy.

I think I have one of those Speedform Compsite blade knives sitting in a drawer somewhere...they are pretty cool!

There will be more Elmax knives from Kershaw for sure....but I am also quite sure that they will not have the combination of the steel, finish and handle anodize that these do....and if you are a collector, that matters.

If you are interested in user knives only, probably makes sense to wait....when these sell out, they will most likely go up on the 'bay, and prices will get driven up.....making the "user" in some cases reconsider "using".

Dave Anderson is a great guy, I have truly enjoyed knowing him, and I shop from "Kershaw Guy" myself for those hard-to-find Kershaw/ZT Knives that don't magically wind up in my mailbox.:D

Best Regards,
