New Knife Co. on the Block " Kizer Knives" coming soon

I saw those knives at blade and regretted not taking a picture. Shane was made aware and Tim was banned from another forum for knocking off Shane's knives.

Wow, WTF has happened to integrity?

Tim should be ashamed of himself but I doubt he gives a flying you know what (family forum)

I think I am going to have a knife give away to get this terrible taste out of my mouth!!!

I'm sorry, I only responded yesterday when someone said something like it was crazy to pay more than $10 for a Chinese made knife...their post was later edited (nothing wrong with that).

I don't own any knives from either Kizer nor Mr. Britton, I will say that if I were a knifemaker I think I'd have my company or name laser etched, printed or machined onto the blade rather than engraving by hand. Then it wouldn't "appear" as if I was buying a knife or knives from another company and then simply writing my name on it. Mr. Britton may be the most honest guy in the world (never dealt with the man) and if I were in his shoes I wouldn't want there to be ANY doubt that I and I alone built my knives from start to finish.

My "gut feeling" (and that's all it is as I have zero proof) is that a deal was struck for a certain amount of Kizer made knives to be delivered to Mr. Btitton and then sold as his own design. Once they started showing up in magazines and at knife shows as Kizer knives Mr. Britton felt the need to go into damage control mode. I do hope that I'm wrong.

The exact reason I'll never buy a "custom built" knife with Rick Hinderer's name hand etched on the blade.
They look, feel and work just like any of his "factory made" knives, except for the ridiculously priced engraving of his name on the blade.
There's also no reason to believe the engraved name isn't done by a computer program.
Unless I see him build one these knives himself, and watch him then engrave his name on it, I'll never believe otherwise. Why should I?
Most of you know what these knives actually cost through Hinderer Knives, and the extra three to six hundred bucks to buy them anywhere else is just plain ridiculous.
If he sold them to anyone through his site at the price charged there, then I would consider this to be a legitimate transaction.
Since he doesn't, I can't help but wonder how much kick back he gets from the companies he allows to sell his knives.
That's what drives the Chinese to copy and generally, accurately, reproduce other peoples designs and sell them for what they're actually worth.
It isn't fair by any means, but that's what happens when you price products far over what they're actually worth.
So far, my Kinder (I think of it as a Kinderer) equals a Hinderer made knife for a fortune less in actual cost.

There's also no reason to believe the engraved name isn't done by a computer program. Practically the same as a "unique design" of Chris Reeve Knives.
Just a little change in a computer program and you suddenly have a "Custom Made" knife, when they're all the same. Made by the same machine coded program by a machine. Not a real person.

While I do love the Hinderer knives I've already purchased, I really don't see myself buying another one anytime soon. They're too easily copied these days.

Why is this thread still going on? It's over a year old, and suppose to be a review on Kizer Knives. Instead it's all over the place.
Who did what to who, when and how long ago. --- 125 - post and over 26,800 views?
And it still no further on what is all up with that since the thread started. - :thumbdn:

I looked at shadowmed - the OP profile page, about every thread he started, is a for sale thread?

Why isn't he a dealer?

Shadowmed has 15 feedbacks in a year and you have 27 in just less than two years sir. When you get to my sales numbers then you should be asking, but before you go there I can assure you I haven't made money. I've lost thousands on purchases and my bank balances have not increased. Why do you want to get on guys for buying and selling sir? Isn't it a right as a paid member?

I noticed that too.. Bagging on guys selling knives for personal pleasure is well within the rules. Most guys sell at a loss or on a rare knife make $50 or $60 bucks . People in the community love trading and selling amongst themselves to be able to try out multiple knives . You have been around long enough to know this .

Not bagging on guys for buying and selling, was just asking?
I have a Craftsman member ship, so I can sell all the stuff I want that I make my self.
And just because you have a gold member ship, doesn't give you the RIGHT to sell all you want. Read what SPARK says in the rules, that they've had problems with guys taking advantage off this.
Yes I do sale stuff here, but I also contribute to the forums in other ways then just selling stuff. But if a person just wants to sell stuff, that is OK if that's what a person wants to do?

VMC - was a platinum member her and sold a few knives, but he stepped up and bought dealers member ship, which I think was right thing to do.
And most all that sold - leather, photos and other none knife stuff, that used a platinum member ship, have switched over to the KnifeMaker / Craftsman / Service Provider member ship.
Sorry I ruffled your feathers, didn't mean to do that, I was just asking is all.

Have a great weekend.
