That thing is a perfect ten, thanks for knife porn buddy. Just beautiful. I love the bronze, and cf, and everything else about it.

First picture of many! I took a few minutes to tie my lanyard on, touch up the edge, and take one picture. I'm not sure I can stop playing with it long enough at just this moment to take any more (though some will definitely come tonight at the latest). I have to say this thing is absolutely awesome! It's absolutely, insanely smooth, the flipper flies open, it cuts like a laser (phone book paper does not stand a chance), and it looks great doing it. I really couldn't be happier.

^ that looks awesome! I love the frag scale and that lanyard looks great. Congrats. Very nice score. I look forward to more pics.

Thanks! I wasn't 100% on the blue frag scales, but I think they look pretty nice with the tanned saddle leather lanyard that has quite a bit of red in it. I'll try to get some fun pictures later for a couple of threads around here. This thing is insanely awesome. I'm trying to concoct some fun work for it around the house later.

Orange XM.jpg

This just arrived today...better pics are in the works. I "scored" this one this past Friday.

Sweet! That setup is one of my favorites just as it sits.

Mine, too. Keeping the scale from turning black (due to my profession) is near impossible though. I might put a black scale on it to edc and use the orange scale for special occasions...or just not carry it at work. After all, that is what my Wharnie is for :D

Congrats NJHart on the arrival of your new favorite knife!! I think that setup looks really good!

Now go use that bad boy!!

Thanks y'all! I've literally worn a sore on my index finger from flipping compulsively. I think I'll name it the XM-callous, and it hasn't even slowed down the amount of fun I've had so far. It really is perfect in pretty much every way. I was a little worried about not liking the scale (though thanks to the extraordinary kindness of brightb I'll have a brown one before long to accessorize with, so it never would have been an issue), but I actually kind of like the blue/black frag. It'll be a nice scale to have around when I feel the need to be a little flashier. I also had a little worry about the flipping action. Like most newcomers to Hinderer I tried to do my due research here and around the web, and that was the one complaint that I had read. I would like to go on the record and be as clear as possible- the flipping action on my Hinderer is incredible! It is as fast and reliable as any IKBS flipper I've played with or owned and its infinitely smoother and feels much better. Like most gear minded people, I try to do my best to research and handle as much as I can before I buy. Before today I'd only ever briefly handled a Hinderer, and though it was more than enough to start my quest, there is always a twinge of doubt. No more doubt and until I get my second XM (someday) my pocket time won't be split. Thanks to everyone for the kind words and support throughout this process! And without further ado, a pun I've been waiting for too long to use:

A Hinderer and a Herd (or at least a few)!

Also sorry all of my pictures are of awful quality. I don't own a camera other than my iPhone and don't see that changing.

Congrats NJ on your first Hinderer, awesome looking knife, I like the blue black frag scale, gives it a grippy mean look. Glade you bought a user, the picture is so Texas, cows and barbed wire. The first like many things in life will always be special no matter how high the pile becomes.
