I own neither, and would own both if I could afford them, but that means nothing. Neither CRK or Strider need me to speak on their behalf, but WTF!?
You start bandying about terms like "sweetheart deal" and you sure as donuts better have something to back it up, other than innuendo. Does the military, and every other branch of government, over pay for stuff? Probably. Does it rise to the level of waste, fraud, and corruption? Maybe, sure, I don't know. Are you alleging that Strider's sale of knives to a particular unit rises to that level? I sincerely doubt that it does, and I would recommend that allegations to the contrary be supported by evidence, and that doesnt include "documentation" purchased at a gas station. Single source contracts are not unusual, and procurement regs vary across the board. Not everything rates the same level of competition as a fighter plane.
If the original poster had a point, it seems to change with every rebuttal. I dont know the Strider guys from aardvarks and will never need to pry open a taliban cave rock door with one of their knives, but I'm inclined to save my grickles and get one just because they have the most bizarre detractors. Oh, and I'd like it with extra glue.
I have taken a lot of cold medicine, so if I have misinterpreted something I apologize, even if it is the Nyquil talkin'
