I've got my own issues with Mick, but you are truly acting like you were dropped on your head. You don't get to toss pot shots and act like a child when you receive the like in return.

I really like your attitude. I haven't been involved in specops since the late 60's, but know how it worked then. Sounds like things haven't changed much. Keep up the good work.

Oh, and regarding the price of the SMF? If I could get my hands on one, I would gladly pay twice the retail so you could give them away to MCSOCOM!!!

Thanks for banning this guy. As you know from our past telephone calls, I proudly state that I am a Strider client, and I make no bones about that. It is not meant to imply being a sycophant (no, that's not a bi-polar packaderm), but it's a tad hard to agree with this weasel-waste when I have Mick's knife in my pocket.

But besides Mick's design, my knives are S30V (that speaks for itself) and the metal is heat treated by Paul Bos, THE recognized expert.

Good gracious, what do we have to give this troll as a rebuttal?

Spark I know you and Mick are not exactly copacetic these days but you have acted in totally professional and gentleman like manner concerning these moronic Strider trolls. Bravo Spark. :)
 
If Mick Strider really knew the military, he'd know that there are a fair number of "faggots" giving their lives along with his "hard-bellied" hetrosexuals. Particularly now with "don't ask don't tell."

A good system for contracting milatary hardware at the right price is vital to the lives of our men and women and the financial health of our country. If Mick Strider was a true patriot, he'd proudly say that his knife was shown to be the best of the best at a price that was fair. Once again Mr. Strider's attitude has proven that he may be a fighting man, but certainly not a gentleman. The best American soldiers, marines, airmen, seamen, etc. are both fighting men and gentlemen.

Mick is not a gentleman? And how would you know that? Because you have studied his posts intimately? Have you ever dealt with the man? (The last question is rhetorical - if you had dealt with him, you would know that he is a man of his word, and that my friends - is more than enough for me.)

Do you happen to wear glasses? Are they somewhat reddish in color - perhaps even rose-colored? Maybe you just can't accept hearing the truth once in a while.

Since I don't want to read back through much of the garbage posted in this thread, can somebody tell me where it is stated how much the marines are paying for these knives??
Since most of the initial cost in any DOD procurement program is R&D, seems to me that the Strider option may just be saving me, the taxpayer, some money.
As to attitudes in the military in general, I have no experience. But, unless the human condition has changed drastically in the past 30 odd years since my involvement, MARINES, esp. SPECOPS do not go into harms was as gentlemen. So if the feminization of the male population of this country has worked it's way into the Marines, I am glad to have served when I did. SEMPER FI.

PS. I will now ignore this thread and get on with my life.
 
Nowhere does it state where MARSOC or other elite groups of SOCOM are paying for their SMF's. My question is why care?

Do you know what your local and state LEO's paid for their sidearms?
Do you know what your local PD paid for their Crown Vic's?
Do you know what State and Government employees pay to stay at hotels when they travel?
Do you what the Navy SEALS paid for their sunglasses?
Do you know what Gary Swenson paid for his jerk-off cream?

Who gives a crap?!

MARSOC came to Strider for an issue knife (a high honor IMO) based on the fact that the Strider crew makes a damn fine hardcore product recommended by folks who live and die but what quality of tools they have with them in the battlefield, not to mention the fact that Strider supports our nations Military 110%.

So what whether or not Strider is giving a discount on the knife to SOCOM, no one cares when Glock gives huge discounts to PD's to supply them with sidearms, but then again Joe Blow citizen is not buying thousands of SMF's or Glocks are they?

How come you trolls don't bitch when your local high school gets a quantity discount on jock-straps and you have to pay retail?
 
This thread is such a waste of time and I'm contributing to it like a bone head...I own both an SNG and a Small Sebenza...Both are fine knives. I take my Sebenza with me on 50% of my outtings, I take my SNG on ALL my outtings...Not knocking CRK, just a personal perference...Deal with it! The guy who started this thread reminds me of the guy who sees someone driving a Ferrari and starts bitching and whining about how he or she got handed the money or had a silver spoon in their mouth, cry me a river blah blah blah, cause you can't afford one. I had the pleasure of meeting Mick & Duane last year in NY and they are both stand up guys along with some of the bestnames in the business...CRK, Rinaldi, Simmionich, Hossom, Mayo, Busse to just name a few...

Allow me to quantify my comments for those who choose to travel through life with their heads buried in the sand….

The term “faggot” is not a reference to homosexuals. Sexual preference is not a subject of my usage. The term refers to personality traits. MOST people I speak to, rather they are hetero or homo sexual not only understand this, but agree.

The usage of the phrase “people on welfare” does not encompass every individual who is unfortunate enough to be using this system. It encompasses the ones who are not busting their asses to get off.

Every one here but one understood this. This makes me believe that the “one” is either:
A. A total and complete idiot.
B. Trying to start ****.

Or maybe both….

The only gentlemen in the military are officers. Though there are a few out there who are mankillers, it is the job of the officers to be “gentlemen”.

That’s why they stay back and watch while the rest of us cretins go kick the door in on a black hole.

I'm not a gentleman, although I play one in certain social situations. I do the best job I can without being a brown-nose. I adhere to business ethics. Occasionally, I have to stress this to a client; screw that 'customer crap,' there are boundaries.

So, fella, I like your knives. I buy them because of your ethics. If that means good customer service, but you eat with your fingers, so be it.

Do you think--in your heart of hearts--that brownshoe ever held a Strider knife, or spoke with you at a blade show?

My guess is that his neck is blowing bubbles.
 
I have friends, family and clients in the military. Most are not officers, but those who are put their ass on the line with their men.

As someone who has worked with military contracts, I know very well how sweetheart deals can lead to inferior merchandise...but then Strider knives doesn't use unproven glue anymore. I assume your factory has an accepted quality system to assure there are sufficient tests and inspection so that all product, not just the prototype, meets specifications and the fighting man's requirements.

Your comments on officers, faggots, and people on welfare either shows how ignorant you are or was done "tongue in cheek." However, it's the rare person who doesn't have somewhere in their family an officer, faggot and welfare queen. Lets assume the positive and you're joking. Maybe your blustery ways are just marketing and you still hug your little girl when you go home.

Why don't you take a trip to Strider and experience what they do - you have no clue what they have been through or do - instead you choose to sit behind your computer screen churning out verbal **** sheltering yourself from the real world.

In this forum there is a wealth of information and facts - do some reading, and use some tools before you come across rich with advise you feel is valuable but actually... if you can not contribute to the forum in a professional manner STFU.

You also seem to forget that a gentleman also entertains someone who is talking ****. I wish that I could have this rare quality.

I didn't check this thread out until I saw the enormous number of posts. At that point, I knew some stuff was flying into the fan. This spices up an erstwhile dull day on the forum.

I hope to own a Strider knife one day.
