New Zombie TV Show ( The Walking Dead )

I really did'nt like the start of the last show. The whole crazy rail against God and everything else and at the last minute he comes up with a way to get the hacksaw did'nt make sense. And how did he get off the ten story high building with only one hand? The first two episodes where pretty cool but the last two were more Jericho meets Jerimiah.

Agreed ^
Last episode was pretty lame. I'm willing to give it another watch or two to redeem that nonsense lol...

Sounds like the hacksaw scene borrowed the idea from the first Mad Max movie, where he sets up the gasoline bomb at the wreck, handcuffs the guy's ankle to the car, hands him a hacksaw, and says he has two choices: cut off his foot, or get blown up. Because he won't have time to cut through the cuffs. Kinda lame in this case, because I'd probably get eaten by zombies before I'd start hacking away at my arm.

yeah i wondered why he didnt just saw through the bolt the cuffs were attached too.

cricket

I wondered this myself, I bet we will find out more in the next episode.

My guess; A nutjob high on Meth/Coke suffering from heat exposure with zombies after him, probably isn't thinking straight and may be delusionall.

Huh?
I don't get it? How many episodes in the first season?
5.1 Million..... is that good?

Bummer. That's just a mini-series. :(

Yea, I like the show.

We all know how Wikipedia can be, but..

On August 31, 2010, Darabont reported that The Walking Dead had been picked up for a second season, with production to begin in February 2011. On November 8, 2010, AMC confirmed that there would be a second season consisting of 13 episodes.

Excellent.......hopefully this is true! Thanks for posting, TheGame.

Oh good grief! I'll forget the first 4 or 5 episodes by then. Hopefully they'll just start all over. Excellent that it got picked up. With all the lame- ... anyway... all the lame OTHER metaphysical and dark drama on TV anymore, I would certainly HOPE the one that isn't some kinda glorified soap opera (so far) would be picked up.

dixon cutting off his hand was questionable at first.

but aren't cuffs made of hardened steel? making it harder to cut through with a run of the mill hacksaw? perhaps after seeing little to no progress on the cuffs, he threw caution to the wind and cut his hand off. shrug.

i think people expecting a zombie gorefest will be slightly disappointed. yes, the series and comics have zombies and a lot of death in it. but the storyline centers around the changes mankind and the characters encounter in an "end of the world" scenario. being a survival enthusiast, it's easy to dissect what WE'D do as we're prepared for many kinds of emergencies. but i think this series takes somewhat of a honest look at what the rest of society might do when something crazy like zombies goes down.

with that said, vatos fortifying positions in a zombie-ridden atlanta? are you kidding? seems pretty stereotypical to me. they might put a twist on it so i'll reserve judgment until we see the next episode. just seems that anyone with common sense would hightail it out of there, even if they had stashes of food and firearms.

Episode three is on youtube..for how long I don't know..

Anyways, if anyone has read the comics, I can't wait to see how they play the "shooting" scene which should come in the next episode..

...and maybe Dixon didn't "escape" just yet. He may be on the roof, no hand and all, holding that rifle at everyone in the next episode..(or did Rick take the rifle before they left the day before..)
