Cziv - Make no mistake - this is a hard use knife.....Please stop insinuating that this knife is not strong enough for hard use, since there is no evidence that there is any truth to this assumption...... I find it frustrating when people make statements based on assumptions rather than real world experience.
I can completely understand if you don't care for how light the 0560 is - some people like heft, and some do not. However, if you're concerned that the 0560 is in any way weakened by the weight reduction, you are confusing perception with reality. The light weight may give you the perception of weakness, but the knife is actually a very strong build. I would not worry about breaking it during everyday use.......... However, you should have no problem cutting zip ties and rubber tubing.
jimmer, I'm not insinuating anything. I was quoting your post, but first read this for my opinion on these folders:
Please don't be frustrated with me for making any assumptions based on your own posting. You characterized these knives as EDC's like a BM710 or Spyderco Para 2 or Military, CS Voyager for e.g. I see you edited your post to add that "these are hard use knives." So there you have it. That's what we expect from Zero Tolerance and now you've stated that and lifted it out of the common EDC category. And one more thing - you're talking about weight reduction and I'm referring to "how it was reduced." I personally don't care as much for a honey-combed handle design. A few weight reducing holes yes but not a skeleton of the original slab. I'm sure time will prove your design to be a trusted one.
I'm glad that you've changed the post that I originally quoted to state that these are hard use knives! You guys make 'em and I assume what you say is accurate. I'll shut up and allow you the time to read the link to my post of my impressions of my ZT 0560/0561.
I'm one of your long time customers - I wouldn't be one if I thought your knives were junk or horribly designed.![]()
We took care to make sure that the strength wasn't compromised by the lightening.
