Really missing my ZT/H...gonna go get out the Delivery Confirmation slip from USPS,and figger out how to look/see if it made it safely back to KAI...bought insurance,in case it didn't.

22*F here, snowing like wild,a NW wind of about 15 mph causing it to snow horizontally....

This knife is simply awesome. I haven't been able to put it down - my thumb is aching :).

I am hoping someone has an idea to resolve something I am experiencing with my 551. I took it apart to clean things up, and the open action is buttery smooth now, with perfect blade centering. It seems like I have everything dialed in, but since doing this, the frame lock requires a lot of force to disengage. It feels like the blade and lock are really biting, and the pressure to unstick things is making it a two-handed process now. I can live with it, and see how things break in over the next week, but I thought I'd see if this is a simple issue with a known process to calibrate (or whatever) that someone can chime in on.

Get a #2 pencil and rub the lead on the end of the tang where the lock bar engages and see if that helps. :)

so i have a weird problem...

last week i thought i needed to send mine in for slight bladeplay-not bashing ,just a fact. so i printed the label and have been waiting for today to send it in..then yesterday i see that the lock becomes a bit inconsistent...but for the better.

it was solidly locking up but on occasion it would lock up to where it would have very very minor play...now this morning its locking up almost always solidly.im so confused.

now its like 90% of the time itll lock up solid and 10% with minor play.

i obviously dont WANT to send it in but if i have to then i guess i just have to.

also, whats your take- should i send it in or not? the more i open and close it the more it solidly locks up..

i guess my question is whether or noth that is normal during a break-in period?

I'd just give it a bit of time if it was me. I think from how you have described it things will be fine. :)
