this makes no sense?

What makes no sense is why a resemblance in top profile bothers you so much.

interesting....You're right, this sort of thing is purely accidental.

i'm sure it is.

So "looks" and resemblance are more important to you than actual mechanics?

there are plenty of other knives that share those mechanical specifications.

How you think the differences between this:
ZT300.png

and this:

are negligible mystifies me. they seem to be as different as two tactical ZT collaboration knives can be.

see? i can use quotes too.

EDIT: a little googling gave me this image:
03_flippigrobust.jpg

(credit to whosever these are... not my photo)

completely different knives in my eye, and probably different in the hand.

So yay! ergonomics and aesthetics are different, yay! same firebird vs camero arguement I started 3 pages ago all over again. Mechanics are the same.

show me one with the same mechanical specifications that looks like this...

Well, whatever.

Whatever twisted point you're trying to make. i nolonger care.

The ZT0550 is going to be a good knife, and i'll likely end up owning one, or one of it's variants.

Its obvious you dont own a 030X

If i understand correctly You're saying that the top view of the 3xx series resembles the XM-18, and are insinuating that the XM design was involved.

I think that every other aesthetic aspect of the 3xx series has very little resemblance to the XM's design, and frankly i don't see why the vertical profile and top grind bothers you so much.

Which view of a 030X resembles a strider more, then that of the XM I showed?

Wow, I took a nap and missed a bar room brawl brewing.

I think either version is going to be a great knife as Zero Tolerance and Rick Hinderer put out awesome knives! :D

I think I'll just trust the actual makers and designers on this one:cool:

It's good enough for me, even if I let their websites tell me what the truth is.......now get to building this blade!!:D:D

Thank you for sharing such substance and insight :jerkit:. BTW, resorting to insulting sum1, is a sign that you dont know anything about debating.

My insight was in my previous post, which you ignored.

Thank you for defining hypocrisy for our younger members,

Goodnight, vpsaline.

So basically, since they're both ZT, they're both framelocks, have the same thumb stud method for a blade stop, they're basically the same knife ?

awesome

Hey Thomas, you didn't answer my question so I thought I'd ask again. Will the 55X be available in a combo edge? And if so, will the serrations be the rounded style on the 200 series, or? (Those are GREAT serrations, BTW...) Also, will the tip strength of the 55X be comparable to the 300 series, or will it be ground thinner and pointier? (A strong tip on ZT is a good thing!) Also, I think I'm supposed to badger you for more pics so, GIVE US MORE PICS!!! :)
