Next to bed knife?

These keep me cozy during slumber...
Had LOTS of guns prior to becoming a dad 9+ years ago...
But wifey and I decided we'd never be one of those tragedies; child, gun, oh my frickin god.
Not us, nope...and I know all the safety technology of today...but I also remember me as a kid and I was pretty damn resourceful...and sneaky. I got ahold of my parents gun all the time. I mean, even as a kid, I was careful about handling it...but if I hadn't been?
So, anyway, preaching and justifying aside...here are these...

I throw my BK2 on a shelf within arms reach of my bed. Along with my cell phone and Fenix PD31.
 
I keep a large fixed blade under the pillow, it is out of sight and provides pillow support. On the nightstand is the flashlight.
 
Seal Pup + Izula on my left drawer. Recon Tanto on my right drawer, sometimes underneath my pillow. Spyderco terzuola lying either here or there
 
Once upon a time I kept an Old Dagger beside my bed. It was the same knife that my father used beside his bed. Now I just have a pistol and a shotgun.

I always have a blade next to me. Rotates. I have slept with one under my pillow or clipped to my waist band but I don't want to wake up in bed with an open knife and blood everywhere so they now stay on the night stand.

I keep my gun locked in a safe in my closet due to small children but I am going to get one of those quick access safes to put in the drawer of my night stand. I recently had to get my gun in the middle of the night due to some a-holes banging on my front door and it took entirely too long to get my gun out of my current safe. (As it turns out 2 guys in their early to mid twenties thought they were at a drug dealers house - I didn't need my gun thankfully but you never know).
 
Saber tooth Chihauhau and a CRKT Ultima w/ 7" blade in the pistol safe mounted to the wall next to the bed.

I used to keep a Cold Steel Desperado between the mattress and box spring - the short handle made it perfect for that but I just swapped it out with the CRKT.
 
Usually I just put my whatever my current EDC is under the pillow so I can find it in the morning.

It also acts as a dreamcatcher.
 
Besides a 12 Gauge with 3" Magnum loads I sleep with a CS Rifleman Hawk next to my bed and now my CRKT Dragon on the top of my Nightstand.
 
Glock 19 on one side, Smith airweight on the other. All my blades are in the bedroom, but that isn't what I'm grabbing if someone kicks down the door.
 
I keep a little metal box on my nightstand that I "rescued" from somewhere, years ago. I lined it with some rubber drawer/cabinet liner, and now place my edc things in it every night so that I know where they are the next morning. Like another poster said, all my knives/gun are located in my bedroom. I have storage for my folders, but not for my fix blades as I have but a few (6) So for these I hang them on the wall. I guess I could reach one or two of them if needed ( most likely go for the Browning Comp Cutter :D), but would probably count more on the Beretta 92 I have in the top drawer of my nightstand, and a LumaPower Signature LED.
