Nightstalker1975 James Jim Hurrey Scammer

Wow, read the entire thread. Must say that I'm also proud to associate with this community. Unfortunate bad apples happen, but we can all learn safe(er) procedures for our own future transactions. Can't catch all the losers, but hopefully save some pain down the road. And even bigger cudos to those that have offered monetary assistance without even having a dog in the fight. Incredible!!!!!

Wow I contacted him about a trade. So glad he turned it down. This is a great forum but geez there are some terrible people out there.

Have every last email. Dont know what can be done about it though. As JR88FAN stated, there's always gonna be these people on the internet, and unfortunately, most of the time they get away with their scams.
Been following this. As the knife exchange was (Mapper) and supposedly (Night) handled via USPS, contact USPS Inspector. Not sure local PDs would pick this up.

On Mapper's end it may not be worth the 'money' investigating across state lines (assuming long distance exchange). On Night's end, just not sure they'd want to get involved. So, to me, USPS Postal Inspector might be the option. I'd also file a complaint with Night's state's AG office.

My 2¢ worth.

Thanks for that. IMO, and as past practice, his name should be in the title of the thread.

The goal as I see it for sharing is many:

Why not set up a pinned 'Board of Shame' on the site for people like him? Much easier to find and avoid them.

Not to throw fuel on the fire needlessly but I would suggest you post address, phone #, etc. The idea is to prevent him from changing one small attribute and pulling his scam again.

Yes, all information should be posted. A name and a state are not enough.

Also, I think it would be wise to get the word out to other forums, Jerzeedevil, etc. if it hasn't already. I'd imagine he's not just here on bladeforums

He's got an active account on Instagram; waiting for his next victim there I'm sure as there's no feedback ratings for trades/sales etc... :thumbdn::thumbdn::thumbdn:

Yup, and unfortunately it looks like he's already deleted the post where Mappetizer questioned him about the tracking number.

So I really didn't want to do this but the user nightstalker1975 may be a scammer.

February 1 2016
We made a trade agreement to trade my duane dwyer custom SMF for his chaves 228 , 325 and keybar insert. Since I didnt have feedback I agreed to send first. Conversation between email were amicable and clear and fast.

February 6 2016
I send the package out and send him tracking. He tells me his wife also sent the package and will send me tracking once he gets home.
9505514141966037211257
That is the tracking number.
After today he stops respondimg to me. He never sends the tracking.

February 8 2016
Knife is delivered to him. And I still don't have a tracking.

February 11 2016
I leave a comment on his instagram and he tells me that his has no control over what usps does. But still does not give me the tracking. He says he'll try and figure it out with usps. And if he can't then he will send my knife back.

February 12 2016
Still not respondimg to me I find out that he's me a trade agreement with the user undefeatable for his gavko. I contact undefeatable and he tells me that the transaction finalized om Feb 9th. The day after nightstalker1975 got my knife.

So that's where I'm at. He assured me he was a stand up guy and he assured me he was going to help. Now he's traded my knife and I have nothing.

What do I do from here?

Also. How do I tagged them in this post?

UPDATE: Beware of James Jim Hurrey from Pensylvania.

Address NOT to ship to

Scammed McBokerson and myself out of our knives using the same knife at the same time with the same excuses. He will offer you a knife and never send it out.

His reply to all this
Post #26

Same situation, time and excuse.

^ Excellent job, memorializing this situation, Mappetizer.

Kelama,

Package intercept can be done online.

Here.... https://www.usps.com/manage/package-intercept.htm

If I read correctly Nightstalker already got the other guys knife.

^ I just want to reiterate, what a "nothing short of a miracle," intercept this actually was, MonoFletch!

Undefeatable's tracking number link showed, what people here may not know: this package had actually made it to it's final USPO destination, in Bethlehem, PA. Had you not been Johnny on the spot (no pun intended) & acted quickly, that package was set to go out on delivery, that very same morning! The fact that you pulled off this last second intercept, is nothing short of a miracle!

The only analogy that could even possibly come close to your amazing intercept, would be another historic intercept that happened 2 years ago, in the Super Bowl. It was late in the 4th Quarter...ball on the 3 yard line...everything on the line. Something along the lines like this: ;)

We know that you're a modest guy, MF...in reality, you're the MVBFM (Most Valuable Blade Forum Member).

Edit: I can only imagine, what James Hurrey's reaction must've been like when he re-checked the USPS tracking number that morning (for must've been the umpteenth time), & realized that MonoFletch, had in fact intercepted it?!?!

His reaction most likely looked like Pete Carroll: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y11fMA1hdWY

If you look at the address through Google Earth, 71 East First Street is an older Trailer sitting next to an older Trailer.
A perfect location for a no knock warrant at 0300 one morning.

maybe sooner than later??????

This is not working for me. Perhaps you can explain.

^ That's the first thing I thought- aren't you guys in the same town, or very close nearby?

No. I live in a nice part of a Major Historical city next to a famous college. He is at least two hours North. I am willing to bet the Banjos are strong in his trailer park. Looking at where he lives I'd need a trip to the Dr to make sure I was up on all my shots before going there.

Just wanted to confirm that So, this is nightstalker1975's name and address is indeed this:

James Hurrey

Okay, it works now but I still not get it. This is the only place I participate in the knife hobby as instagram and facebook are very shady. I see he is communicating with another well known scamer: Will Moon.

I think Monofletch deserves a hall of fame thread, time and time again he's helping out folks without hesitation and going above and beyond.

Undefeatable is also a stand up guy, I know I'd deal with you in the future if the option ever presented itself. :)

I've thanked Monofletch in the past for his assistance. He truly is an asset to this community. I agree wholeheartedly with this suggestion.

I have the tools available...why not use them. I am glad I can do some good in this world. :)
