Yeah, that tree is done. Maybe it's cool inside now? Or hot?

Well, two more rounds of thunderstorms today definitely cooled it down.

But at least it wasn't a tropical storm/depression before hurricane season even starts. Looking like it might be a crazy summer - to match the spring.

Storms rolled through last night. Lots of lightening. Lots of thunder.

Got woken up by a big boom about 1:30 a.m. A minute later a bigger flash and boom made me duck. I thought a transformer blew out on the street light by the front of our house. Then I realized there isn't a transformer on that light pole.

Found bark on the sidewalk when I got home tonight and went out to check the mail.

Turned and found the tree about 15 feet outside our bedroom window like this...

The bark is blown off completely around the trunk in that second pic, and the line coming down is actually a crack.


I'm guessing that's why it was so loud.

Put on preservative on my youngest daughter’s Dog Head. It’s been a pig hunting blade for her for the past few months.

It definitely works as a dispatching tool.

Her, her boyfriend, and our dog Phoenix. They use three other dogs as chompers.

She will be a junior next year assuming schools open back up.

I love my kids!

Once this Dogs Head wears out she can use the BK7.

I testing her to see how she takes care of her gear. So far so good. She is learning maintenance is important.
