No Walking Dead thread

I did and in fact just got finished ordering a TGLB from Busse because of it..... My name is Redhat and I can finally admit that I have a problem.

It looked like Rick and Shane worked out their issues tonight but the previews for next week would suggest otherwise. I thought for sure Rick was leaving Shane in that bus.

Who do you guys think is the next main character to axed or turned into Zombie kibble?

Hershel failed to make an appearance tonight which i thought was interesting.

In regard to admitting you have a problem...I'm getting there with knives even though I've been collecting them since I was 6. But until I discovered Busse's guns beat my knife collection 10 to 1 when looking at dollars spent on each.

What combo did you order? I know for sure I want tanker grey and am leaning toward tan canvas but am still considering black canvas.

As far as which character is next.... if we are talking MAIN characters...gotta be the black guy. Hell I don't even know his name, that is how small of a purpose he serves!!!...He's just "the black guy". But if we are talking overall characters, I'd say that kid they saved and almost killed tonight is probably next. From the previews it looks like they bring a lot of random people into the barn and get ready to slash throats and hang (Rick was tying a noose)...so who knows.

As far as Hershel...where was he supposed to have been tonight? At the end Maggie said he was stitching up the suicidal sister...

Anyone know what the fixed blade was that Rick threw to the bound kid to use to free himself? What ever it was I liked the look if it.

All I can say is that they need to find better hardware and ammo... All they have to do is find a Cabelas or Gander Mountain and they are more then set. Shane needs to get eaten or something while Rick needs to stop being a super hero.

Possibly but when I prepare I do so assuming that even the biggest sporting goods store in the country will be out of stock. BTW, I live 20 mins from said store...Cabelas in Hamburg PA. ;)

However, they have already walked right past M60's, M4's, etc. So I don't think we are dealing with the most weapon-savvy gang here...

I don't like the way the knives were being used tonight. Stabbing hard targets (like skulls) with folders is a recipe for disaster, and while I realize that this is what the show is about, it is not wise to encourage incorrect tool handling.

Great episode tonight, my guess is that Shane will be next to go and that will be the last episode of the season. Who kills Shane?....Karl... makes sense since I've seen a preview at somepoint with Carl holding a gun and looking scared out of his mind.

I liked to see that they (Rick) introduced the idea that knives do not run out of bullets at a point in time where there are a finite number of bullets to begin with.

I've been told that a coconut is a good simulation for a human skull. I've used them for testing certain rounds.

However, I never tried to stab one with a blade. I'm curious if a blade would actually go through that reliably or if it'd graze off. Unless the zombie-virus softens bone, I'm thinking you'd need one hell of a wind up to stab into the forehead and top of the skull...

There is a soft spot by the scalp, I think, where the two skull plates meet... Hypothetically you could stab that.

True, but that spot usually closes up by high school at the very latest usually much earlier. Still I suppose it's possible. Didn't Rick stab the first one through the forehead though?...Or was it the eye socket?

Anyone else curious who was living in the bus and how they did so along with eat all of that food WITHOUT the walkers in the buildings or the guard-walkers eating them?? My guess is those WERE the people living there until they turned but that leaves the question...how did they become infected if they were protected by armed guards and barbed wire fence??

I'd personally go for the temple. I feel like its pretty thin there. No idea if that's true or not. The other thing that concerns me is the zombie blood spraying all over the place. When Rick put that 357 through the brain bucket of the two zombies laying on top of him more than a couple of drops likely got in his mouth/eyes. Is it not transmitted in that fashion? No chance they kill off Shane. They might injure him but they won't kill him. He's a huge part of their story.

They mentioned that the two guards weren't bit. I think the virus is going to mutate and go airborne at some point. It looked like that place was a refuge for survivors and they were holed up and locked within the facility. They let someone in or one of them got the virus and transmitted it to the others.

AnyoNe checked out the talking dead which comes on later in the evening? Some pretty good nuggets given Out during that show.

Agreed about Shane.

I saw that to with the blood spatter. And this is where the writers keep contradicting the story's logic. Either it is airborne or skin to skin or surface to skin...whatever....but PICK ONE!!! Unless certain people have a resistance to one or all of the methods of transmission....it's be odd but I suppose it's possible. In other words, I might not be able to contract it through blood spatter but you might.

Right. That's what I was thinking to. What'd be nice is to have some way of getting a bird's eye view of the area to see who's holed up, what areas are over run, etc.

And BTW, where'd those black helicopters go that we saw last season??

The whole transmission thing has been one of my big beefs with the show other than ammo conservation and supply. How is this illness transmitted because there is lots of blood splatter going around and Darryl has used the arrows for walkers and for food, not to mention impaling himself with an arrow that has been used on walkers. Just seems like if a scratch or bite would transmit the disease the blood splatter in the eye or mouth would as well. AS for my opinion on Shane, not only could they not have that tension go on for much longer and be realistic but I'm pretty sure the actor who plays him just signed onto another TV show, so that kind of gives a hint in its self. I could be wrong though, but I hope I'm not, he needs to go.

what folders where they using. at first i thought they were benchmade rifts, then a gerber that id seen in walmart, then i thought that shane pulled out an american lawman. what do you guys think?

My money says a Gerber. Let's face it, Daryl was only given a Busse because it looked badass!! Otherwise Gerber will smear it's feces all over this series until they stop paying to do so.

yea it was a gerber S.A.H. its a rescue knife that they want too much for. well it might be fair since it has an auto hook.
