this talk of pipes and stoves bores Bladitio! come, we must find greater entertainments!

perhaps some ...

i dunno, how you say? sexy khukris. yes?
Pipes and stoves rule. So do cook sets. Word.

That looks like the same BE stove i posted a couple weeks ago, not my stove... but i like it.

i got jumped by a german shepherd when i was in 8th grade, while delivery papers. i was SO MAD, i jumped on top of that dog, scissored it, grabbed it by the head, and pretty much choked it down to calm serene state :)

then i bit it a bunch of times, ear, nose, shook it, screaming NOOOOOOO at it. owner found me unzipping and i said "yeah, i was going to pee on it". yeah. pee. hahahahahah. j/k. i've heard some people pee on their dog when it pees on their things. don't know if that works.

well, that dog never bothered me again. pissed itself silly. not your normal kind of training ;)

Quoted for the sheer visual.

What's something like that go for-ish?

A Jackson-ish.

Wow, cool stove. Between that stove and not needing to carry a spare paddle you must cover some serious ground in that Kayak.

High speed, low drag.

I'll play. First, a khuk to go with my stove.

ask for that guarantee :>

apparently the mail people don't believe their old motto

Hope it arrives tomorrow! It at least better arrive tomorrow.
I was glad to see it arrive and was really hoping they weren't going to use the weather as an excuse. They seem to like to drop the ball when it comes to delivering to my apartment complex.
What's totally crackers is I checked the USPS tracking system and it stated that attempted delivery @ 4:59 pm and left a note.....yeah, right. the box was completely empty and NO one rang the bell. My regular mailman would not have done that. That's a crock of schyte! At least just say that you were freezing your tush off and you'll deliver it tomorrow! Whatever, I think my energies will be better spent NOT getting my knickers in a twist after I post this.

In other news, all that talk about (lack of)"Reality TV" and look what my dad sent me - filmed right in town where they live. I thought it was a joke:

Too bad I don't have TV. That's the actual name of the place, BTW. There's a sign right at the intersection. They also have the most subversive (and fun!) Independence Day parade there. Floats made of local lobster boats, lawn chair drill team...lots of irreverent humor, but in a parade. And one more video of something we try to get up and see in the fall:
Yep. Giant pumpkin boats. With motors.

That one is pretty awesome too Cam!! The top guard kind of throws it off to me a little but its still an awesome knife regardless. The guy has some serious talent.

There is a 1913 or 1914, 20 dollar bill with president Grover Cleveland on it. I seen one a long time ago. glad i could share.

the tendency for a pup to try and chew on their leash is one of the reasons we use a short length of steel chain between collar and lead when training.
once the pup gets over that first 5 minutes of sheer panicked frenzy, things go better.
Once they start figuring out how to behave, we switch to a fairly thick "choke" chain -- as it's easier to get on and off and encourages good behaviors, like not pulling suddenly in an odd direction.

Rather than a "choke chain", I prefer a product called "gentle leader". A strap goes around the neck with another strap that feeds through a ring and slips over the nose. Where the nose goes, the body follows. Also kinda acts like a half-muzzle and they can't chew the leash unless you leave it too slack.

When training them to obey a particular command, I follow the camp that says it's better to train them for 2-3 minutes on a command and then do something different for a while. As pups, they have VERY short attention spans. Many short sessions over time SEEM to achieve better learning. At least it worked that way with my last 3 dogs (all heelers).

We got around 8" of snow here. Not too bad. Growing up on the south side of Chicago I can agree with James on the Chicago drivers thing, but if you lived here that would be "normal". Actually I'd almost prefer that then some of the people in the suburbs that drive at 10 mph when theirs barely any snow falling from the sky.

What's that stove called Guyon?

N/M, I found it.

I hear that DJ. Hate getting behind one of those drivers that are "too" cautious.

snowing and blowing here.
interweb says we're down to 8F.
It's actually getting chilly at the outer edges of the house.

Am I sensing a slight crush on the weather girl? She has perfect teeth.

SLIGHT crush? geez.

Eh, maybe. I don't do much at work anyway so I generally don't have anything better to do then watch the news just for the hot anchor chicks. When I was on days a bunch of us made a point to catch The Price is Right just to see the models on there.

I could probably dig up some more pics of the hot weather girl...

Its starting to snow a little harder here. The kids and the new pup was gettin cabin fever so we went for a little roadtrip. We went to the Muscatatuck wildlife refuge. My family used to own a 500 acre farm there before the government bought the land.
The house my Dad was raised in was here at this trailhead.

We took our new puppy Sophie along. She doesn't like being on a leash.

So she hitched a ride on my son Lol.

Looks like the kids are in love with Sophie!

My dog was a notorious leash biter. I found that holding a small treat in front of the dog while walking keeps the dog occupied and will hopefully keep her mind off the leash. Took my dog a little while but it did work.
