snowing and blowing here.
interweb says we're down to 8F.
It's actually getting chilly at the outer edges of the house.

It's 37 degrees Celsius here right now, and we're heading for 42 tomorrow. Gettin' toasty here, it's nice to be in the AC.

It is cold here.

I park about fifty yards away from work, and by the time I got to my car, my fingers were numb.

Rather than a "choke chain", I prefer a product called "gentle leader". A strap goes around the neck with another strap that feeds through a ring and slips over the nose. Where the nose goes, the body follows. Also kinda acts like a half-muzzle and they can't chew the leash unless you leave it too slack.

When training them to obey a particular command, I follow the camp that says it's better to train them for 2-3 minutes on a command and then do something different for a while. As pups, they have VERY short attention spans. Many short sessions over time SEEM to achieve better learning. At least it worked that way with my last 3 dogs (all heelers).

My brother uses one of those with his lab "puppy".

She is 75 pounds of rambunctious playfulness.

When he tries to discipline her, he is too kind. It is frustrating to watch him not be assertive with her,

I think its crazy how its summer time during Xmas in australia. I bet the people in the Santa suits are hot and mad as hell!

19°F here right now and snowing. Suppose to drop to around 10°F. :(

There's kind and then there is too kind but then there is also too mean.

You gotta show them who's in charge or they will take over for you. You gotta be the alpha dog in the pack and everyone in the family has to as well. BUT, that does not include those choke collars with spikes, beating the dog or any other brutality. Every dog I've ever had for the last 50+ years has been well behaved and trained in the "nice" school.

Another thing, if a pup has an "accident" rubbing his/her nose in it teaches just one thing - P is wet and S stinks.

Yeah. He almost treats her like a human child. It is pretty funny to watch him talk to her. :D

He says she calms down after a while and I believe it. She is a good dog, and good for him, still a puppy though.

I tried to get him to let me have her for a couple weeks, but he didn't go for it. I wish I could see her/him more than every couple months.

In other words, I am trying really hard not to adopt a dog right now.:D

I want a Shiba Inu like this one

Someone at some point had asked if it was possible to make a taco style sheath with me and Pointy's "air welt" and at the time we hadn't attempted one. Got one done Wednesday with Pointy for my Colubris.

Should be easier for something like a BK16.

What is that a rifle sling shot? That is pretty cool, I wonder how accurate it is..

Some guy on the slingshot forum made it. Called a "Starship", XP class. The main body of the slingshot is made from SpectraPly. The forks are 3/8" thick G10. All of the red material is DymaLux and the buttcap on the handle is honduran rosewood burl and carbon fiber accents on the arm rest. Some of the people on the slingshot forum are so experienced with slingshots, they're accurate no matter what they shoot. Nathan, from flippinout Slingshots made it for himself.

Y'all may think I'm kidding about this turn toward high speed, low drag, miniature gear, but it's for real. Here's my new folding spork.
