Just a little rain overnight here. Currently 37F and overcast - which beats the heck out of what's going on back in WI.

You're not kidding. Roads absolutely suck, and since the municipalities refuse to use sand instead of salt, they're hands are tied. Too cold for salt to do anything right now.

I drove from Racine, WI to O'Hare airport last night and back. Usually takes 2 - 2.5 hours. Took 6 hours, since apparently Illinois can't handle snow.

We're taught how to drive in it so the municipalities don't waste all their money on salt and sand. ;)

He isn't a bad QB. Just he needs to quit his whining, and quit pissing off his O-line. If he does that he's going to be fine. Trestman needs to bring in someone for defense. His line has more open holes than a hooters.

Ain't gonna happen. He whined at Vanderbilt. He whined in Denver. He whines in Chicago.

No snow in the forcast down here. But at least the weather gal is cute so that takes the sting out of the bad news.

Am I sensing a slight crush on the weather girl? She has perfect teeth.

I'm talking about all the morons who were slamming into the median or straddling 2 lanes...or drifting across 3 lanes on 294 / 94 between o'hare and Gurnee. It was funny to watch their plow trucks, too. They'd set up 5-wide to clear the road and half of it would end up on the other side. They'd turn around and thrown it back over.

It's hard to say what we've gotten. I believe around 10" between the 31st and 1st. Supposed to add another 5-8 today with lake effect snow off of Lake Michigan. It's come this winter mostly in 2-3" bursts, but has been so cold it's piling up. After having very little snow the last few years, this is nice. I really do love snow...I just wish the local towns wouldn't rust my cars out with salt. Having experienced how great sand is on snow, I long to have that back.

Amazingly, my little Honda Civic with snow tires is great in this stuff. I drove my parent's Focus for the trip yesterday and it was terrible. The 4WD SUV is out of commission right now, ironically.

All snarking aside, Congrats, G-shark. Welcome to the "real" world. Just be cool about it and remember the old saying that is appropriate for anytime you walk into a new position.....

It is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than it is to open it and remove all doubt.

Wait until you know what's going on before trying to change the world.

Snark season is now open.

Thanks man! Some good advice.

Congrats on a new start in life and a new opportunity, 'Shark. What are you moving into?

Finance. And thanks!

There's only piece of advice you need to know about starting a new job... walk straight up to the biggest guy you see and punch him square in the teeth. Gotta let those filthy animals know you're not scared of 'em.

No wait... that's prison. Never mind.

Thanks for the solid advi... wait a minute :D

weird, it wouldn't even occur to me to think that.
Good luck!

It's the truth! And thank you ;).

It was an interesting day. Lot's of information... I'll have to learn 74 products they're selling in 6 months. Training on the job + online and class courses. 150+ pages of info per day. Let's do this

Hey guys, I've been browsing old threads and found this ''IMHO a Becker owner needs a warranty like a Dairy Farmer needs a milkman!''-Phil Gibbs, AKA my new sig.

we got less than 2" of fine powdery snow.
this morning it was 7F and I was out there in shorts, a t-shirt, and canvas slip on shoes sweeping the back patio & front porch.
wasn't bad when the house was blocking the breeze, but it got chilly out front -- shoulda remembered gloves.
