Don't know what fight you guys were watching, but Floyd easily won. He out threw Pac and was far more accurate. Pacs offence was shut down by the third round. 9-3 to Floyd.

Need to try not to be biased when scoring a fight, and always ignore both the commentary and the crowd.

I dont care about either fighter on a personal level... Im really not even a fan of watching boxing, Our guests wanted to watch it so we did.

But there was absolutely no bias what so ever with me wanting one of them to win... Except i just like rooting for the underdog. I liked his energy. I liked that he took the offensive stance. Wanted him to win it.

That's fine, wanting a fighter to win. But he didn't. A fighter who lost a fight cannot be robbed.

The fight was...eh...OK...
I really wanted Manny to win too. I wanted to see Manny knock Mayweather cold.
He needed to press the fight with more combos.
But even when he did, Floyds defence made it tough to connect with anything.
Floyds jab kept Manny at bay and connected all night. That's why he won.
I'd like to see a rematch, but it won't happen...
Manny will always be the peoples champ.
Floyd was a tactitian last night. Just like he always is. Like him or not, the man can box....smartly.

Like hell. You have obviously never been to west Philly. :p

Looks like i found the Mayweather fan LOL, no offense meant bud. He won, you dont have to argue it for him :D

-Snark.

This is why im not a fan of watching boxing. There was NO loser or winner to that fight as far as im concerned. A fight, IMO, should only be over when one person is done fighting. You cant win a fight until your opponent is out, no longer able or willing to fight. You lose when you quit fighting. Neither quit.

Yeah, was no Provodnikov Matthysse. Was interesting to see if it would be a typical Mayweather fight or if Manny would bring something. He didn't.

Not a huge fan of either fighter. I like what they do in the ring, but the undercard was more entertaining.

It's a sport, the better word is probably match, rather than fight.

That's why I was so anxious for this one.
I thought Mannys style matched up well to give Floyd trouble.
I would have loved to see Manny keep him on the ropes and in the corners unleashing hell.
Got to see a quick glimpse a time or two, but nothing near what I expected.

Went out this morning to the parks with the kids, and did another walk through the forest. Then did some yard work.

Spent the afternoon practicing hand sharpening stuff on my stones. Then I worked up the stones to give my ZT 0562 an edge by hand (hah). Gave it an insane edge, way better then it came out of the box .

Now back from a successful shopping trip to Wally world, and its time to bbq up some steaks wewt.

seems like James's lion got out of the cage while he's at the Gathering and is attempting to communicate.

Got an awesome photo to upload later :D hydrogen peroxide solution eating the dead skin from the finger tip I severed :D better then any zombie makeup I've seen!

BBQ night at the end of the cruise.
BTW, 'cruise' means 24/7 ops for nearly 2 weeks.

After I took it out, cleaned off the nasty bits, and removed a bit more fingernail.

Time to let it air dry before putting on another bandage :D

This is what I was up to today.

How was it CBear? I love Bolèro. Such a magnificent piece. My dad played it for me when I was young (along with a myriad of other classical compositions) but that one was always my favorite. It would have been truly spectacular seeing it played by a live orchestra. Speaking of which, what orchestra did you have the pleasure of watching and listening to?

It was the St. Louis Symphony directed by David Robertson. There was also a guest harpist today, Allegra Lilly. She performed Debussy accompanied by the string section, and it was SO ethereal!

The opening performance was actually Bizet's Carmen. Which I hadn't realized when I had gotten the tickets and that just made the day even better. I remember sitting on my grandfather's lap when I was about 3, in their place in South Dakota listening to Carmen. It actually was SO well performed today I was sitting there and it took me right back to being there with him even though he passed almost 10 years ago (actually this month.) It was SUCH an amazing time.

I also found out about their "Young Professionals" season tickets which I think next year I'm going to get. For $75 you get 2 tickets, and then 25% off the rest of the tickets you get for the rest of the season.

lots of yard work

lots of sharp things

tractor got some use

interestingly, a calm back 40 test drive almost resulted in a roll. yikes. squishy on one side, rock on the other. good thing i was going slow, and belted in.

i suspect the backhoe. not good for off road. ironically, it was the outrigger that helped me escape, cleanly, though, probably wouldn't have happened without it.

lots of polishing to the land to come i think.

I'm glad you had a great time mate. Sounds like it held some deeper meaning to you as well. That's wonderful..

It's a pity that more young people don't appreciate that style of music more. The composition and performance is truly unparalleled by even the biggest and best bands of today. Composers back then really were the rock stars of their time..

It was even more so than it seems actually. Bolero was the first symphony I remember going to see in Chicago's Grant Park, when there was a Grant Park. It was a free symphony that the family went to. It was so beautiful to be able to go to it as an adult and appreciate it being played by professionals.
