It was not my idea to adopt a stray kitten. Person 'Y', at work, (As in 'why' is he here?), decided to catch said stray kitten in a live trap, with no plan of action or intent to adopt. I persuaded 'Y' to let the kitten loose, after which, I felt sorry for the orphan and fed it.
Fast forward 2.5 years, boss says "No more cats!!" So, we caught 'Fred' the shop cat to relocate it. I put in the effort to get him fixed and brought him home, knowing he would likely take off. He did for two weeks, but today he showed up after he heard my loud truck, (Which he knows means 'food'.) So, I sat down to watch him put away enough grub to make him sleepy. Maybe now he will show up for regular meals here. I'll see about that.

It’s rare to find millennials that actually want to work. I work very physical jobs, been doing construction since I was 12. Currently I do state road work and excavation. I Take pride in a hard days work. I can’t just stand around and be on my phone all day. I’m actually lucky that I get along well with my boss. If your job is affecting your mental well being, then I 100% agree with getting yourself out of that environment. You did a good thing for yourself The Warrior The Warrior
Same here, I work my ass off. Makes the day go by faster, plus, gives you a sense of pride/accomplishment.

My 10 year old grandson got himself in trouble the last day of school so no baseball game for him . He stayed with me since we are close to the stadium. Of course no fun allowed. As most of you know I have fought foot issues and even though this last surgery seems to have helped I am not 100% . So Eli helped me clean and reorganize the garage and shed . The big thing is my garage is in the basement ,my Gravely Professional 12 developed an issue I pushed it into the garage . With the 40 inch mower deck it is north of 500 lbs. We pulled it out with my old craftsman garden tractor took an old fridge out of the garage etc. We moved nearly every price of lawn equipment I have . I have 3 times what I need for a half acre lot . Swept and cleaned up. Then moved smaller mowers in the garage gravely into the shed until I can get it worked on he also picked up trash and knocked down some weeds. This got it where I can get my Grillo ( Italian made two wheel tractor) out so I may able to plant a late garden I can get my bicycles out to try to get back to riding and can sit in the garage and smoke sparrows and starlings with an air rifle. Of course before we started we sat down and talked about what he did in a calm discussion why you just can't do stuff like that . Why we had to work instead of doing fun stuff etc. I made it clear that I love him and have faith in his ability to do better . Once done helping, he told me he would do better understood why he shouldn't have gotten in trouble . My wife asked if he had fun he answered no but we got stuff done that helps Papaw . He's a good kid and I can talk to him without acting upset my daughter can't his dad has went off the deep end (divorced) I may go get him for a weekend soon just to get him out of the electronics and outside
Amazing job Pawpaw! It's that kind of day and conversation and attitude that makes all the difference in a young person's life! Your grandson may not remember it when he's older, but he will be the better for it!

That gets an old fat man up and standing at attention for a minute .
There is a Veterans memorial park just around the corner at 6:00 I was out on the porch with the dogs and they played Taps . You can call me old school but I have to stand .
Please say a prayer for those who are without loved ones because their loved ones though our freedom and our families are worth dying for .

Well the at the old farm stead that fallow field I was going to throw some spuds in the ground got ditched when the old man didn't let me borrow the tiller. Oh well, don't have to waste time doing a lot of potato gardening this year. And he will bellow about me not planting any thing again this year. I don't break and turn over a grass field by hand any more.

Well, yes - but normally I would be able to take a vacation day. I have to attend a hearing this morning, so I couldn't take the day off.

Took a ride out to Huntington Beach this afternoon to visit one of my favorite tackle shops. The new reels needs to be full of line (tied and wound on correctly, as tight as possible), so I took half a dozen down to get the remainder of the spools filled by the experts. One small reel, that I bought in used condition, had its braid line on the spool so loose, it could be spun on the spool by hand as one, big wad. They spotted that right away, I never did!

The trip gave me a perfect excuse to get some much needed saddle time in on the bike. (My doctor recommends I get plenty of good riding time in.)

First time in 3 years I was able to get a bike ride in . Only 2.5 miles , but it's a good start . I feel better physically and mentally when I ride a bicycle. Stopped at the Gun club and pulled a couple of Bass out of the pond with my newest handline .
