Said it before, and I'll say it again.......we need to get Mike a T shirt and have the word INTEGRITY put on it. He oozes the stuff!

By now if people haven't gotten the message and seen all these people keep coming forward (just the ones willing to post, a lot more just keep waiting and afraid if they say something they won't get their knives), it's on them. But we will continue to bump his thread and update it.

I did see a couple more 2 year+ waiting customers who paid in full came forward and typical same lies from Jeff

What I find the most interesting is that there are so many fanboys on Instagram that continue to praise him and fawn over his knives.

I think the answer to your question can be found by comparing how much time, effort and money is required to simply behave ethically as a knife maker vs the time, effort, and money it takes to create sock puppets on Instagram...
 
^^^ The 'fanboys' are most likely in the same boat waiting for what they paid for and are hoping by coddling him they'll get their knives........in a few months they'll be here singing a different tune.
There will then be new fanboys bashing those guys......horrible cycle.

Ok so my story....

I got my money back from Gene about 4 weeks ago via an international Bank transfer. He simply wouldn't do Paypal.

In early 2013 I paid in full $660 for a custom O.R.B. with Marbleized Carbon Fibre scales (with the deep Grooves/texturing) and Red liners. 6 months after full payment and more than 1 year after placing the order, I was sent an O.R.B. with smooth Carbon Fiber Scales and no liners. I wrote back and attached my (very clear and specific) email showing the Spec I had requested. I think I didn't get a response the first time and wrote again a month or so later. Gene wrote back and admitted his mistake, was very apologetic and told me he would have me taken care of. I then wrote back and asked how that would work? Should I send the knife or what?? Gene wrote back and said that he would make me a new set of Marbleised CF scales and the red liners and mail them to me...So no need to send the knife in.

Then I waited another 5 months and wrote back. No response, Then 1 month later I wrote again, this time a little more tarty, Gene responded with a rambling email telling me that Marbleised CF was extremely hard to come by and he had Marie checking for it daily. I waited another 6 months. Then I wrote a pretty frustrated email requesting a refund.No response, then I wrote another and another each with about a week or 10 days between writing. Then I found this thread. Once I chimed in and started putting my story up Gene began to respond with extremely long rambling emails...one after another. I felt like i was getting somewhere and that I might actually get my money!

So Gene agreed to refund me although refused to use Paypal (even though that is how I paid him) and said that I could keep the knife and he would still refund me (this and everything else listed in this thread made me very suspicious). After a short time I returned the O.R.B to Gene's PO.Box with tracking. I sent Gene the tracking information and tracked the package myself. After about 10 days it was listed as "Delivered". Gene told me he had checked his PO. Box and the knife was not there.....but he'd still refund me. I didn't believe him so I sent the tracking link again and screen shots showing the package listed as Delivered. He wrote back and said that if you copy and paste the tracking number into the USPS website (I had shipped via Australia Post and was tracking the package through their website) that it showed the package somewhere far off in another state of America. I never tried this and simply didn't believe what Gene was telling me considering the information at hand. Regardless, I decided to launch and investigation through Australia Post....

I was totally shocked when I got an email from Australia Post one week later saying that the package was due to be delivered today!!!! (almost 40 days after is was listed as delivered). What the hell was going on??? So I emailed Gene and apologised for doubting his story about not receiving the knife. He eventually responded and accepted my apology and then we moved on to discuss the refund. Well like I said at the start of this post, the money came through, actually he sent me $1000 US. and called it a baby gift (we recently had triplets which I had mentioned to him earlier.) I was very pleased and a little humbled, perhaps I had miss judged this guy and he was just doing his best to get everybody 'Taken Care of'

Then one day a short time later the O.R.B arrived back to me marked as RTS... WTF???? I phoned to Australia Post and asked them to explain...... As it turns out... the knife was delivered to Gene's PO.Box when it was listed as Delivered...and there is sat for almost 40 days until my investigation uncovered it again.... USPS simply collected it up and sent it back because it had not been collected from Gene's PO.Box..... WEIRD OR WHAT???

So now, I got a refund of $1k and the O.R.B (albeit not to my spec).... (Its for Sale if anyone is interested, please PM me)

Gene (or whoever he is)

I would never deal with again - Check
Completely dishonest - Uncheck

Glad you finally got your money back, he has multiple law enforcement issues now and is in a panic to try and save this pyramid scheme. While you got your money back there is still a lot of people who haven't, including posters on his ig.

Whatever new money he got from scamming business people and customers he uses a little of it to pay off some high profile complaints. This causes a little doubt and perpetuates the scheme.

Gene/Jeff is a master con artist and liar. His PayPal has been shut down.
And having your real name and address exposed makes a con artist nervous.

It was really due to guys like you applying enormous pressure to Gene that he folded in the end (in my case anyway).

I really feel for the dudes who still have money or knives outstanding...

Here's hoping they get 'taken Care of'..... before someone snaps and takes care of gene...

Just an update.

I continue to get more and more emails of people that have outstanding orders (years) waiting on refunds or their knives. So this is still going on.
 
I'm curious, for those with outstanding orders with Jeff/Gene under Nocturnal Knives, is he still in contact? Giving you excuses and the runaround, or did he decide to disappear altogether?

He has finally dropped off the map. No response to email or text.

Unsurprising. That was his final move as Karg Knives, looks like he's doing it over again. Now it's anyone's guess what new business name he will resurface as.

Well. I called him this morning. It's like 8am here. Called two times with no answer and about ten minutes later he called me back. So he is alive and responding. Said he is still having problems getting my folder together and will get me something next week.
 
I have some lovely land for sale in South Florida as well if you are interested. It's natural, undeveloped and pristine.

Yep, that just happened.
