Northwoods #79, a dream come true?

I just picked one up in mammoth as well, the mammoth on these is great. Someone just beat me to the first one I had picked out, it went out of stock while I was in the checkout process.

Wasn't #57 was it? If so sorry about that. ;)

But, man, there are so many great looking handles in Mammoth in this pattern...

Why did you have to do this to me? I've been wanting an ivory covered knife for a long time now, but I don't know if I can swing it right now :(

If I can move a knife before they sell out maybe I can make it happen.

Dave--I hadn't seen your question, but everything is up now.

Leo, Camel bone is not really better. It is more dense, but I don't think it really matters. What people like is how it takes the dye.

Thanks Derrick. Just went to your website, wow! Those mastodon covered knives look like $1000.00 customs.
Congratulations on bringing this to market at a price that even I can afford, if I stare at them long enough. ;-)

In an email from KSF this was mentioned:
"We have a few stragglers coming in that will be different handle materials. Keep a watch on the website for them. They will be one offs."

If you see one and buy it, please mention it and post a picture. I'd love to see those one offs. Since I have ordered one already I doubt I'll e able to buy another one.

Lastly I have a question for Derrick. Why blue? I'm not going to tell you how do run your business, but more variation in colors would be great. Didn't the forest jack come with more colors?

got mine :), and a big thanks to Greg at KSF

Can you post a pic of it showing its width - a top looking down shot possibly? Thanks. By the way - it is beautiful.

The camel bone seems to have gone quick! Anyone know if the shades were all green, or was there some purple or blue mixed in? Thanks

On the KSF website there are some with blue mixed in - #08 for example. Might want to check it out. Several really nice ones to choose from.

Nice to see all the Mammoth Ivory Fremonts. If someone gets a chance, I would like to see pictures of all angles including closed, looking down on the spine so I can see how thick the covers are. And also closed from the side, so I can see how the blade sits in the handle.

All the pictures Ive seen so far, and thanks for those, only show the knife open from the side. I also would like to know the dimensions of the Fremont knife and how many grams it weighs, I did not find that info on KSF

Just ordered one in Camel. Now for an age/memory check. Does "Save me a blue one!" ring a bell?

I have been looking at these all day! I do have a question though...... How much of the blade goes into the handle? It seems like it sits really high

on mine, the tip is just below the liners--just like I would expect. One really nice thing is you can easily pinch to open. :)

By my scale it weighs 2.8 oz

Thank You! Beautiful pics too.
The weight is 79 grams, for comparison a Single Sheepfoot Walnut Charlow weighs 58 grams.

The Fremont is 36% (3/4 oz) heavier, and 7% (1/4") longer in the handle

The Mammoth Bark is absolutely spectacular!
