Northwoods Bear Lake

Should be cool. Noticed the end cap or bolster. Forest jack size?

Rarely feel like I'm missing out by not having a Facebook account , but sometimes ....

I don't have Facebook but I was able to watch the video anyway. I think a name change on the thread would be appropriate. All I can say is my wallet is thanking Derrick for making these part of the rustic line. They look great, I just don't like saber grinds. If GEC did a Northfield version with a standard flat grind though..... oh man!

Good luck to everyone who wants one. Hope you can make it happen before they hit the secondary market!

The traditional way to make this knife is to break off the secondary blades on a 2 or 3 blade like this 100 year old Walden Knife Co which is missing both. ;) :p :D For those who buy knives to use, I can tell you this pattern is extremely comfortable in hand.

Mehhh. To me, it doesn't have that "wow" effect that other Northwoods have had. Just means that I have extra cash to buy other stuff :D

Anyone have any experience buying Northwoods when they drop on Knivesshipfree? If you see one you want and add it to your cart do you have enough time to check out? I know Derick doesn't have early reserve like Collector Knives

This knife is not really my cup of tea, but I truly hope that Northwoods or GEC utilizes this pattern for some multi blade knives.
I'm thinking single spring/ spear and coping with some nice smooth bone.

Name change done.

Anybody happen to have a link to the video? Also wondering about the size?

Thank you

I hope to get one. I have been wanting a spear blade for sometime now so that ticks the box. I would have preferred double bolsters but that may have looked out of place on this pattern. I don't think I can afford the higher end materials but red is my favourite colour so that could work and the overall size is bang on.

You're speaking my language here, that pattern would look great in a smooth white bone. It would be like an oversized Esquire.

Same here...I was thinking, "Ouch, another Northfield I can't afford, or can't get through the ordering process fast enough to actually purchase." But, after seeing it, this knife really doesn't speak to me. Different strokes and all that, so I know it will appeal to a lot of others.

Good luck to all those who take the plunge...I hope you get the one you want!

I'm not the biggest spear fan in general - but this one does look nice. I'd love to see a GEC Wharncliffe Whittler of sorts stemming from this pattern.
