Man, that stag looks really cool. I must resist, however. I think I've hit my Michigan quota.

The bottom one is actually "blue," but the bone is almost entirely white and the blue dye in the cracks looks black. There is a very slight blue tinge over the knife. I love the bottom one--I got lucky.

I just picked up this mammoth ivory version. I have been watching it through the GEC photos, and have never seen any natural mammoth colored quite like it:

I have just been looking at the Stag Michigan Jacks and i am most impressed. A top-down view is provided so you can see the thickness of the Stag slabs. These are nice and slender handles, just like the best of vintage Sheffield. I understand it requires more skill to properly haft(mount handles) slender stag than the obese porky stuff. And i think the slender handles are more comfortable in hand and allow for more precise tip control "like a surgeon" (wasn't that a song ?).
Kudos to the GEC cutlers and to Northwoods for doing such a first class job with the Stag handles.
Now, do i get my free one ?

Yes, that is pretty incredible looking. I really hope you will post some pictures so we can see what it looks like through a more conventional camera shot. Nice score. There were some really nice mammoth covers. These things went FAST. Whoever got #30 really got a neat one, too--super rustic and it looks like there's some green in it!

That one's been sitting there because the end cover pin is super funky looking to me... fyi
