Nutnfancy: love or not.

Unfortunately I don't really remember him or his vids. What I REALLY DON"T LIKE about some of these people on YOU-tube is that all they are REALLY interested in is hearing their OWN voice. When you spend 25 + min giving a review of a knife that any NORMAL person would take 5 min. You are just "GRANDSTANDING" I have "DISSED" several of these "characters" online because I don't "suffer fools gladly" If you want to go on the internet and make a video in which you portray yourself as a "MORON" That's your choice. But you must realize that not all of us who use "social media" are idiots! The problem is that you have now displayed yourself to the world as an "IDIOT". You can't take that back. The damage is done. YOU ARE AN IDIOT-MORON. It is unfortunate that you do not have the mental capacity to see that is how you have portrayed yourself. So then you just want to use a catch phrase and call people like me " HATERS". When I went to school, we actually had to write exams, we actually had to learn to read and write the "ENGLISH" language correctly. I am sorry that so many young people out there are "PATHETIC" losers. The "INTERNET" is a WONDERFUL thing. You can actually learn to speak & spell "ENGLISH"

A real surly one indeed. Ya spelled it wrong though.

Hahaha lighten up man.

Nut-N-Fancy is always worth a watch...he uses his gear unlike most of us...also considering the hundreds of hours of in use videos he has I would consider him quite procecient in his field.

I bought my Swamp Rat Rodent Solution after watching his video on it...I was thoroughly impressed.

I think it all comes down to personal preference. I would have a beer with the dude because we share the same passion for guns and knifes. I don't always agree with all his choices but that is the same for all my friends and he advocates for you to make your own decisions. I watch his videos on content I am interested in and make up my own mind. I appreciate his dedication to our hobby. He makes the most videos of anyone. Sometimes I turn down the volume and just focus on the product. Just depends. Why bash on someone we don't agree with? We all share a similar passion. But we argue like Fords vs Chevys.

I'd do what he does if I had the opportunity. I'm sure there is a freebee here and there...... :D

I don't judge or fault anyone for providing a video review of any product I am interested in. They took the time and effort to provide their impression of the product. This is more than 99% of people ever do and I appreciate it. Thanks to all who do this.

The people who review products like all of us show some bias or gravitate towards certain products. Even if I don't agree with his opinion, Nutn has had his hands on so many firearms and knives I still watch and listen. His Sog obsession does baffle me though.

Great answer... lets all sit down and have a beer and appreciate someone with similar interests who is willing to put in the time to do the work, even if his take isn't always mine, as his uses don't always align with mine.

Beer time :D

I don't know him personally but he seems to know his stuff and he has some great videos I've used to help make decisions on which knives to buy. I think he has some interesting takes on knife purposes and reasons for purchasing. The only thing, and this really is nit picking, some of his videos are grainy, but that may just be the older ones.

I always liked his reviews. Some people complain that the videos are too long. Whatever man, I for one like the longer videos. Although my knife taste has been moving in a radically different direction lately, so many of the newer knife reviews haven't been that interesting.

I personally don't agree with many of his views, but he does post some video reviews that are worth watching for sure.

(I'm trying this again in what is hopefully a more appropriate venue than W&C, tell me if it was dumb to post here)

OK, I've been on the forum for a couple years here, and to be honest, the guy who helped me get really well acquainted with knives, blade steel, manufacturers, and knife usage is Nutnfancy.

Now I understand he can be polarizing in his pol1t1ca1 views, his gear reviews, and just in general, the way he does things.
I think it is pertinent for me to say that I agree with 98% of his pol1t1ca1 views, and don't think he is a windbag or blowhard when it comes to knives, outdoorsy stuff, and the tactical shtick.

I also find some of his longer winded reviews to be entertaining as well as informational, though I don't watch everything he puts out.

I do get weary with silly unboxing and first impression videos done by the majority. They are a dime a dozen on YouTube and I don't really have the time to get what is essentially a non-review for an item I might be interested in buying.

But I'm wondering why it seems a huge majority of the forumites here (at least from what I've seen) think/feel that he isn't worth the oxygen he sucks.

Every once in a while he mentions why he doesn't frequent the knife forums as often as he used to a while ago due to people a. Thinking that he (Nutnfancy) doesn't know ANYTHING about what he's talking about and b. People putting crap on other people's ideas, opinions, and systems, while talking up their experience with little in the way of actual proof.

Y'all will probably think I am a dummy for even typing out this guys screen name, but I'm just curious why the bulging veins over this guy...

He talks way too much, but he does have a lot of relevant points.

Got to agree with you. I would very much enjoy having a beer with U both!

Why? They make a good product. I have a couple. They work. Not saying they are the best of the best, but for $100 -200 I.m not unhappy. Sure there are better knives out there. You can pay $100,000.00 for a shotgun. but my $400 Winchester still kills everything I point it at. or your 870 for you Remington fans or you BPS. I still love my BUCK 110 that I have had since 1971. Kill ya just as dead as a $400 Chris Reeve.!!!

A toast: to nutnfancy and all of us gun and knife enthusiasts who love or hate his videos! Here is to living in a country that allows us the freedom to pursue our hobbies!
And may you significant other always think that knife or gun was always in your collection to begin with! Drink up!

I think he's pretty good at what he does considering he's a little egotistical. I also think he seems like a pretty good guy. I think video reviews would be boring and less entertaining without opinions, seeing as I can read specs for myself and don't need anyone to read them for me. I will watch his videos if they cover a product I'm interested in, but I don't watch everything he comes out with. I think it's pretty simple, if you don't like it...don't watch it.

One thing good about the reviews that I like is that he offers opinions after using the blades for an extended period of time. You just have to sift through a lot of talk to get to the juicy parts. Most video reviews out there really aren't that informative. I don't need to see someone cutting up cardboard or shaving wood to understand that knives are sharp and are designed to cut things. I like to hear opinions after people have had it in their hands for an extended period of time in the field. How were the ergonomics over time? How quickly does the blade dull? What types of wood does the knife work best with? Stuff like that. IMO, that's better than watching someone slice parts off a pig.
