Hi Slim, the specs are 10" OAL with a 5" cutting edge. 3/16" thick O-1 HT'd to 59-60 RC (differently HT'd) Green/olive Canvas Micarta Scales, with stainless hardware. Sheath is 8oz veg. tanned cow hide treated in bees wax.

I can't post a pic of the spine as I do not have the knife. tknife will have it today sometime. Maybe he could post a shot of the spine for us.

Thanks
Nick

I almost forgot to mention, that there will NOT be any extra charge for the BF stamp. My buddy will make it for me in trade of a knife. I don't think anybody will argue with that:D

Thanks again

Nick:)

WooHoo! Very cool Nick. Thanks. I am looking forward to seeing this knife and thanks for all the accommodations.

This is turning into a very classy act.

Yup I got it today, and man I think you guys are going to love this knife. Fit and finish is excellent, balance is nice, feels light but substantial in hand, fits like a glove too! Nick puts some great shaping into the handle. I love the temper line, and this thing is RAZOR sharp. I will post a shot of the spine tonight. I plan on taking it for a walk this weekend too and getting some action shots. Thanks again Nick! :D

Deposit sent via PayPal for knife only, just like the one pictured please. I'll be making my own left hand sheath, cross draw maybe. Looks sweet.

What about left hand sheath? Please let me know, as I think I seriously want 1, maybe 2!

tknife- please post some more pics when you can. Also, let us know how it handles some chores while you're out with it. :-)

Yep just mention that you want the left hand sheath if you decide to order. (Shoot me an email if you do)

Most definitely! I am really looking forward to using it.

Ahhh, Friday. i couldn't wait to get home, crack open a beer (Anchor Steam, mmm)and check out the knife some more :D
Here' some spine and in hand shots. I also tried to show the great contour of the handle, but it's hard to show in pics. Nick is a true crafteman guys, you will really like this knife! By the way that's not scratches on the blade, its some of the bees wax from the sheath. (Smells a little like honey :))

I love the hamon on the blade. Is it natural from differential heat treatment, or etched? Either way it looks great. I definitely want the green one, and maybe black. I can't decide whether I want black linen, or canvas. Can you point me to some pics of the 2 so I can get a better idea? I'll probably order in the next few days.

Looks awesome. A great looking knife for a great price. Might even become collectable!

Edit: I just looked a few posts up and it looks like it IS diferentially hardened. Very cool!

Wow, she looks awesome! Enjoy tknife. Talked to Nick today and he is a true gentleman with top notch customer service.

I don't know how I miss all this cool stuff! I should just follow Fiddleback and Hollowdweller around as they always find the good deals. :D Glad I saw Spark's sticky.

Not 100% sure of what the total is going to be (questions still seem to be open about a stamp and extra knife?), but these pics sold me. Looks like a great knife! Email sent tonight.

Thanks,

Norm

I'm thinking I might rather have mine made with a black handle. Did someone mention that's there is a picture showing this knife in black?

Thanks!

Down Payment Sent for complete package
Green Micarta
Right hand sheath
Pouch for scout firesteel.

Tknife whats your email address so I can send my order to you as well

Exactly the knife I'm looking for! I'm definitely interested, and have an email coming your way NWA.

Thayne, thanks for the info today. Down payment sent for the entire package as well, to Nick tonight:

Green micarta, right hand, and firesteel loop. Would prefer the larger Army swedish firesteel (I hope to get a custom one to match this handle from Bark River), but if it can only be the smaller Scout then I'll live.

Nothing against that sweet Scandi blade on the other list by Ironwolf; it is a beautiful piece of work, but this design really appeals to me, and I have several smaller bushcraft knives already.

Thanks very much for driving this!

Thanks hikeeba.
bodfish, Amazon has both models check them out here http://www.amazon.com/Swedish-FireS...e=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1179495477&sr=8-6

These are great, and thanks to instruction from Fiddleback I have several of both sizes, but do yourselves a favor and check out DLT Trading Company. Mike Stewart at Bark River is taking the larger Army version of these firesteels (12,000 strikes instead of 3000 for the Scout) and making custom handles for them. For not much more you could get one to match this knife handle. (Well, close to twice as much, but who's counting? :D)

Mary at DLT can help if you want to call her. If you don't see one listed that you want she can make some calls. Hope this is OK to mention this here. I'm not shilling for anyone, just pointing to a good deal that would complement this very cool knife.

I'm going to wait on confirmation that I can get the larger loop before ordering one in any case.

I have sent my $80 down payment via PayPal, but I forgot to include the details. I would like the complete package, green canvas micarta scales, pouch for the 'army model' firesteel, right handed sheath, no BladeForums stamp if possible. I'll email you this info as well. Thanks, and I look forward to receiving the knife!
