NWA forum knife, ordering etc.

I won't speak for Nick, but I can say you can feel the makers touch in the knife I got from him. Definitely carries the spirit and feel of a custom from a maker who gets outside and uses his knives.

This whole thing really did take off and I'm still floored (and grateful) that Nick and Ken took this on!

Bodfish, your right on man. This is a huge project for a single man. But, I'm up for a challenge:thumbup: I have half of the blanks cut out and drilled, and ready to grind. I've been busy as a bee. I'm very thank full that my full time job is in the same building that I make my knives.

Thanks Thayne, I really appreciate your kind words. I do try and make each and every knife perfect, though I know nothing is perfect but at least I can try. This project really did take off, also, this is great bunch of guys and gals.

Thanks
Nick:)

Is it possible to ship one of these to Europe or is this for North Americans only? I understand that I have to pay for the shipment.

I can ship to Europe no problem. I would use USPS.

Thanks
Nick:)

Nick,

I'm in for a full package.
Green Micarta
Right hand sheath
Pouch for an Army firesteel

I'll send down payment in June 1st (payday).

I have one question. Would it be possible to extend the tang about half an inch for hammering? If possible, would you advise it? Would hammering put too much stress on the pins? If possible and advisable, how much would that cost?

Paypal deposit sent for complete package, green canvas micarta, w/right handed sheath/army firesteel pouch.
Thanks,
Kristen

Thanks Preacher Man, One thing though, if you want the tang to be extended that would have to be a different order all together. Would I recommend hammering on the tang? It really depends on how one defines hammering. If one was really going to use a hammer I would say NO WAY, but if one was going to use a branch or a small log, I would say have at it.

It's up to you but I wouldn't be able to get to the different design until all of these are complete.

Thanks
Nick:)

I purposely used a piece of wood and hammered quite a bit on the butt end, and it worked great as is and did not cause any damage to the Micarta.

Nick,

I'll go with the knife as you are offering it.

Extending the tang was something of an afterthought. When I say hammering I mean to use the tang to hit or "hammer" a tent peg in place or something like that.

tknife,

Thank you for the info. I don't own a Micarta handled knife (yet, but that will change in about 4 months :D ), so I don't know how much abuse Micarta can take before being scratched or damaged. It may be that the butt end as is will do what I want without any damage.

Hi Preach, I understand now. One thing though, I would say go ahead and pound in a plastic tent stake but I don't think I would use a knife, any knife, to pound in a metal one.

Thanks
Nick:)

Just paid the deposit for a full package without stamp and green canvas micarta. Standard steel size.

Forgot: right hand sheeth, and I'll pay for the additional costs of sending it to South Africa.

Thanks Roger, I received your order. One question though. Why do you not want the stamp?

Thanks
Nick

I think people still may be under the impression that the stamp is going to add a lot to the price.

I can only speak for myself here, but the reason I would prefer not to have the stamp is because I like my carry blades to be as sterile as possible. I think the NWA stamp looks great, and doesn't distract from the blade at all. Granted, I haven't seen the BladeForums stamp we're talking about here. Any ideas/sketches of what it will look like?

I think it's just going to be BFWS 2007, or something along those lines, and as small as Nicks makers mark. I'm not a fan of huge pictures etc on a blade either, but it won't be anything like that.
