NY Knife show

I will be there on Friday with my brother and 1 or 2 friends. It's been a while, I am really looking forward to this one!

HEY GUYS!!

It's good to hear from you! I am still alive, just busy as heck. between my promotion to SGT. at work and getting married, I have not had much time to myself lately. I am really looking forward to seeing all of you on friday. It has been TOO LONG. Life is good.

Does anyone know if there's an easy way to sell or trade personal knives at the show? I have an Emerson I'd like to sell to raise some $$ for a new knife from the show. I guess I could always wear a sign around my neck, but that's pretty lame.
 
See you on Friday! By the way, this is my first knife show. Are there long lines waiting to get in when it opens? How early should I arrive?

You can trade/sell out in the lobby. Don't even think of doing it on the show floor. It's a big no-no. They're will be a bunch of us hanging out in the lobby on and off all day. The biggest table will be us BF.C members. Stop on by and say hello. :D

Er, take note that the show is being held at a new location this year. I do not know the layout. But there may not be a lobby area as did in some of the other hotels. If this is the case, the hired security (quite professional) probably being the same outfit from past shows will tell you strait out if there is to be no swapping. This is only proper since there are exhibitors who are paying good bucks to rent tables. Contrary to what Ken has mentioned, there is quite a bit of wheelin and dealin among fellow knife nuts inside the floor showroom! Just don' t roll out a floor mat in the middle of an isle to display your wares and then start making a sales pitch or conducting an auction! :eek:

There is no harm in chatting with some of the purveyors/ collectors who have rented a table. Some good trades/ deals can be struck.
