October BOTM--847 Vantage Force Pro with genuine cocobolo and S35VN!

Looking back at this years' BOTMs, it has been a mixed bag for me.

They are all nice knives but some don't fit into my collection strategy that well. (when I figure out what that strategy is, I will tell you)

Really liked the February 112, May 110, and August 101 - got those

Didn't care for the March 722

Got the January 119 (would have liked a different handle)
Got the April 113 (probably should have passed on it)
Got the June 55 (had to return it because of a minor defect, didn't get replaced due to no inventory - probably should have passed on it)
Got the July 841 (the red/white/blue theme was a little weak - maybe something that embraced the patriotic theme more boldly)
Passed on the September 102 - OK knife. Not sure why I passed.

That's how it goes. I usually just pick up somewhere between 1-3 BOTM's these past couple of years. This year, I got the 55 in June, but I also picked up two special projects (the Mango Budgie and the Larrin) as well as the carbon fiber 301, and drop point/nickel silver 110 and 112 web exclusives (or specials?). Even though I only got one BOTM so far, it feels like it's been a full year for me. A slippie, some lockbacks, and a fabulous framelock... Buck's doing well this year.

So I'm seeing a dark and light colored knife in the promo.
I guess they're just showing possible variations due to the wood....?
Product Description on the BOTM Vantage page...

*Please note: When we make handles from natural products, you will find nature's "brandmarks." In most cases, these markings are not flaws, but rather nature's design. Colors and markings will vary from handle to handle. Each one will have its personality and distinctive look, unlike handles created from man-made materials.

Yeah I saw that.
I sorta wish that they showed a number of them.
The featured one looks a lot like the Vantage Avid. Pretty, but I have one that looks like thst.
The darker one, now that's interesting.
Maybe one with color varations would be cooler still.

Sorta like buying stag.
You wanna see the one your getting...... But then this isn't priced like stag.

I'm in.
I've been collecting wood finished (or whatever they really are) handled Vantages for awhile.
Can't stop now.

.....I always sorta squeak when I get my wallet out anymore.
😉

I really like the large Vantage pro and I have four of them in various steel and one is a botm s35vn that looks similar in natural micarta. I don’t know if I’m gonna spring for another or not. I’ll think on it for a little while.

Actually, the thought of a modern folder with a genuine hardwood inlay is something exciting.
A wood handled flipper....😎

It's not micarta, or g10, or plastic.
It's a traditional product from a company that has built their reputation on continuing to use traditional products in an age full of plastic stuff.

Maybe I shoulda bought 2.

The more I think about it, the more I love the idea!

So, what are you hoping for? My list is short:

- Large or small Vantage in S30V or magnacut blade and ebony scales (no ball bearings)
- 300 Series model with S30V blades, long pulls, and ebony or bone scales (e.g. Solitaire, Companion, Cadet, Canoe)
- Saunter with ebony scales (and perhaps a forward brass or nickel bolster?)
- Marksman in S30V and tan micarta scales
Someone pretty much got their wish.

There's a sincere pumpkin patch over there somewhere!
