Hi everybody!
I guess I am going to have to second Sean on dropping out of this "Gathering"! I have been trying to get some of my gear together today, and I guess I just don't have it in me right now! Can't seem to get my thoughts together real good, which could be the pain meds they still have me on! There are some times that I can go without them for a couple of days but, sooner than later I end up having to take them again! Then I keep thinking about getting all of this stuff upstairs out of the basement and then, loading it into the truck, cooking the beans on Friday, then having to get up at midnight to 1:00 in the morning so I can leave out of here, drive five hours, then unload everything for a day and a night, then loading it up again in the truck, driving back home for five hours, and having to unload everything again, then having to get it back into the basement and get it stored again for the winter! I'm really thinking that my back can't hold up to the strain anymore! As much as I would really love to come, I think I have to bow out this time around! I think I will just wait until the next one comes around at John's house, if that is alright with all of you? Making John's house is a lot easier for me, and just having to bringing food and beer is fairly easy but, I really don't think my body is going to allow me to do some of these kinds of things anymore!
kyturkey, if you could just bring that osage with you, and leave it down there with John, if he doesn't mind, I would really appreciate it! I will get down and see him eventually and probably before we have another "Gathering"! I'm going to have to take a sheath down to him anyway, for him to fix for me, and I will pick that osage up from him when I see him, if that is alright with you John? I really appreciate you thinking about me on this, and I'm sure I will enjoy the osage! Thanks!
Sean, maybe we, and anybody else that wants to come out, can get together some place in between your house and mine, some time before the weather turns real bad on us, have a few beers and just spend some time together! You can bring out the bucket of bottle caps and I'll take them off your hands and out of your way! Again thanks for thinking about me on that stuff! Keep in touch with me, and we'll try to work something out, and tell Uncle Bill he is always welcome too!
Andy, if you bring the stuff you picked up for me, if you wouldn't mind leaving that stuff at John's house for me, and again if John doesn't mind holding onto it for me, I'll pick it up from him some time in the near future! Thank you for thinking about me on that stuff! I really appreciate all of you guys looking out for me on the beer stuff!
John, if you don't mind! Can you hold onto these items for me until I can get down to visit with you again? I would really appreciate it! I will try to get with you and set up a good time to come down to see you! Maybe I can drive down to your place, drop off the sheath, pick up all the goodies that everyone is supposed to bring with them this weekend and leave with you! Then maybe we can take a ride out to get some sandwiches, and take them out to the park for a short picnic! I'll give you a call some time after you guys get back home, and have time to rest up! Then you can just ship the sheath to me along with the Early Style Hunter in January, if that works for you?
I'm really sorry to pull out on all of you guys at the last minute but, I just don't think I am up to it right now! I hope that doesn't cause any problems for anyone but, I just think my body has left me lacking after this last back surgery! Just a little bit of any kind of work now, makes me feel like someone took me out behind the woodshed and kicked my butt! I'm really getting tired of feeling like this but, I can't seem to get back to the place I was at before the surgery! I really hope that all you guys that make it over to Michigan have a great time, and I'll be waiting to see all the photos come up on the Thread! Just be careful on your trip and have a good time!
Please, everyone reply!
All of you guys take care, stay safe, and nobody cut yourselves!
Tom
