Nice sheath, Trade!
I gave up making holsters for other people because the stitching ("sewing" is for clothes ;)) takes so long and abuses the fingers. There are a number of techniques to make faster and less uncomfortable, but the real solution is a proper leather stitching machine like you'll find in a cobbler's shop. COOL machines in the back, btw.

but for some reason, I'm wanting a bolt action.
Prolly because bolt guns ROCK. Simple, clean, accurate, unhurried, elegant. A bolt gun in a small caliber is lovely - you can shoot it all afternoon on the cheap and with little abuse. Hmmm.... .22 bolt rifles.

i'm checking with another independent dealer tomorrow, and two gun nuts i know that are much better versed than i am.

let us know what you find out I'm too lazy to google myself.. :)

iirc Bush removed the ban which also included but not limited to detachable magazines 15+ rounds... we have full Automatic weapons here... that's right you heardz me correctly, MACHINE GUNS.. just need a piece of paper to be all good :) legally........ and all..........................

I think I will put the original magazine back on it for now. I guess I could go back to a Yugo wood stock if I have to...Hope I don't.

I payed $99 for the Makarov (about 10 years ago) that I traded for this SKS so I'm not going to be too upset if it does not turn out as I planned.

googling just gets me confused on this issue...

for instance, even on 100% american made, pistols vs sbr ... http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m3197/is_11_56/ai_n58471532/

get the right permits, for $$$, and you can do a lot, but you're now open for federal review... suppressors, sbr, aow, full-auto... messy.

in this case, because the gun is an import, and fails c&r in theory, it must then have 10 or fewer import parts. this model basically would have to have 5 parts replaced to really conform, and THEN, maybe, you can put detachable magazines in it...

maybe... even the atf agrees there are grey areas, and ou can ask for a determination on your PROPOSED project...

its getting cold up in here...

Nice mess of coals!

Its been pretty cold here in Colorado too. My Bk9 has been working hard making a fire almost every night. Got more snow last night and its supposed to be -4 in my zip code tonight.

its my new forge :D

but I am collecting all the coals this year, coal is hard to come by (store bought) and making it is down right another chore in and of itself.. this on the other hand is a win-win.. :)

ETA:... OUCH -4??? somebody stop me... its 38 here and today is the first time I've had to wear a jacket this season ....

HAHA ... a forge.

Yep its only 10 degrees right now with the sun out.

Even my cats are fighting for a spot near the fireplace.

I don't always like the cold... but when I do, I prefer it to be snowing.

But seriously folks, us Chicagoans are going to be hit pretty hard once winter really starts. Can't wait for some snow, I can't stand seeing trees if they don't have either leaves or snow on their branches.

damn.

Sure are a lot of sigs with "Gunyon" in them.

I feel used.

that Howa is a nice rifle for not a lot of $$$.

Mine does way sub moa for a $539 rifle, scope rings and mount included.

If I get a 223, I'll be building it from the ground up, so, that baby will be tight.

This is a video I did for the local youth group on post about the struggles Military teens face everyday. Figured I'd share.
