Looks like you aired some repressed feelings because you bent your knife and didn't get a replacement. I thought mistwalker's response was the best one.

As for the other, pantherguy long had it coming.

you said repressed :D lol.

PG went to another forum to bad mouth this one, and play the pity card, and probably didn't realize that some people have accounts on pretty much ALL THE FORUMS, and they noticed. BF actually has rules about that kind of politics.

did PG go and get another account? might be worth checking some IPs. he (and some others), really were dramatic on their exits.

Esse Co are VERY tight with Ethan. trying to play the teams will get you nowhere fast.

Yep that answers it.

2" wide :D

I dont know who Leo is but he is a lucky SOB.

Haha, Leo is my wifes cat, he hates everyone, especially me, since im not really a cat person. But just when you think hes gonna shit in your shoes he suprises you. The day I found out about my oldest friends passing. Had a lot of mixed emotions. None of them pleasant. Sad day indeed. I literally locked everyone out of my shop and just started to create something. Leo, the cat, was the only member of the family the insisted on coming in, he threw a fit unit the door was open. (Mind you, hes a indoor cat, only goes outside about 4 or 5 times a year.) Once in, he let me work, but woudnt leave my side. Sat in my lap when I ran the mill. Layed on the workbench when I layed out the pattern. Fact is, he just wanted to be there. RARE. I'll never forget that from that cat as long as I live. He was there by my side for no other reason than he wanted to be. Pretty cool in my book. Even for a Lazy old pussy cat.

I was looking on ESEE'S website and saw that the Becker/ESEE cooking knives are discontinued, what's the reason behind it?

Yea that is just awesome.

I recently found out my grandfather has liver cancer and the day i found out was pretty rough for me. They had tried a surgery that he needed before he could start chemo but the surgery was not a success. I was in a bad place that day and Neko stayed right beside me most the entire day.. It was weird because he is very independent and normally doesnt sit on anyones lap or anything, but that day it was like he knew i needed some comfort and he sat with me for hours. I think animals can sense when something is wrong.

On another note the 2nd surgery was a success. Chemo just started so he is not feeling very well right now.

I know he is old but still its sad. He has been a huge part of my life and he is a true hero, when he was younger he was driving a bus overseas and there was a huge storm/tsunami and the road he was driving on, especially the shoulder was wearing away. The bus was driving on a road that wrapped around a hillside. or cliff edge. and the shoulder gave way and the bus went down the cliff. There was lots of people on the bus, the official report stated my grandfathers legs were completely covered in 3rd degree burns and still on fire when the paramedics showed up but instead of putting the fire out on his legs and torso he was crawling in and out of the bus pulling people out of the bus and putting the fire out that was covering the people. He had major nerve damage and 3rd degree burns all over his body by the time it was over... but the paramedics still had to hold him down to keep him from crawling back in the bus to pull out already dead bodies. He had already saved multiple lives and he was still willing to give his life to pull out any others. He had to be in the hospital for months, skin grafting was needed all over his body, his face had to be redone and more meat applied from other sources. But He wouldnt leave anyone behind. Never leave a fallen comrade.

From the time i was 10 or so he lived with us, and when dad was working out of town he was the one always there, He would spend hours driving us kids around to places we wanted to go, he is an NRA instructor and would teach us about gun safety and proper use. When i cut threw my thumb with a bandsaw at 12 he was right there to pick me up, and my piece of thumb up, and get me all patched up without any judgement or blame for for not being safe.

He is a great man, and doesnt deserve the trials he has been forced to face. He has never smoked and never had more than 1 glass of wine or champagne at a time that i know of, the only person in our family that can even say anything like that...

Ok now im getting sad again so ill stop writing now.

Text or call me next week. I am dealing with funeral shit now and I am not sure about finals. There is some good BBQ close so maybe.

Hope the grandpa gets better WW. Sounds like quite a man.........................

On another note, today ought to be a good day. Why you ask, cause I said to hell with going into work. I've had almost flawless attendance for 17 years. Now all of the sudden with this management team. If you have a bad morning and make it in a couple minutes late, they give you a attendance ding on your record. I was two minutes late this morning, told the bossman about it when I could of gotten away with it. But I was trying to be honest. He tells me," well, I guess I'll have to give you a occurrence. " My response, "well, you have a nice day then, cause I'm enjoying my occurrence at home." He looks at me and with total surprise and says, "wait, whos going to measure those parts that have to get done today?". (I say,) "YOUR PROBLEM" then he studders around and tries to get me with, "Well, you wont get paid for today," to which I quickly responded, "Thats O.K. I make a lot more than you do anyway." Then turned around and walked out the door. Piss on him...............freakin idiot.

Thanks Todd.

And a day off is a great thing.. Permanently off not so much LMAO

My luck when i said "your problem" the boss would have said OK your fired and then i would of been like... Shoot i was just playing LOL

But in your shoes id have done the same thing... And then went and worked in YOUR shop. Hell with your knife making skills i think you should have made them fire you or quit a long time ago and went on to making knives full time... I think purposely getting fired could be a lot more fun then quitting LMAO Plus you "might" still get unemployment if they fire you...

Well, its not quite that easy, first of all, they cant fire me. I'm under contract and I have to have accumulated a certain amount of occurrences before they can can me. Like I said, I have almost flawless attendance and I'm nowhere near the limit. As far as quitting, I'm trying to make that transition now. But you got to take into account that I have a company matched 401k and health insurance. Both of which I'm gonna lose when I leave.
The plan though is still to get out before I lose my sanity, and bossman loses his head from me knocking it off. But since right off the bat, insurance is gonna cost me a grand a month, that puts a big damper on a new business. So, most likely I will be doing some sub contracting work doing metal fabrication/welding for my buddies business, and making knives at night. Thats the thought anyway.

Wonder what's up with Spark. He hasn't posted since April 1st.

Todd, sorry you are dealing with the stupidity STILL. I say take today, spend time in the shop, go play baseball with the boy, take the girl for a hike, do SOMETHING fun for you and the family.

Todd, yea man that insurance is crazy!! I guess it would depend on weather or not making knives full time would generate enough profit to cover the insurance PLUS your old wage... Then 401K would still be an issue... And selling knives might not bring the same income every month.... I can understand you being reluctant to quit. Making life changes like that require a lot of planning.

Also Id love to have me one of those tear drop campers... But hell you can buy a car for what they cost. I think it would be a lot cheaper to just take the cap from the bed of a pickup truck and build it up on top of an old boat trailer.... Might not be as pretty but i bet someone with some construction experience could make it happen without much issue.
