Official KITH Photo Thread

Man... I'm almost giddy with anticipation! I can't wait for the drawing. There is some awesome work being posted here.

Damn I find myself wishing that I had joined in on the festivities this year. I guess I'll have to start planning for next year! Great looking knives everyone!

Happy Holidays

Hey guys I made some last minute changes to my knife entry. and wanted to see what ya thought. :o I thought it was looking pretty plain Jane, so I carved in my forge initials in elder futhark (MCF for Mud Creek Forge) and burnt in some simple knotwork on the handle. I was very inspired (and still am!:D) by the Mad Dwarf Hammer-in this past summer, so I decided to give their style a go. Whatch ya think?

Again Forged W1, with hamon. 5.5" blade and 5" handle. 10.5" OAL. Carved Mahogany handle and scabbard, & also brass pins.

Some incredible work, gentlemen. I would be proud to own any of the knives shown here - very proud.

While I can't take part in this KITH for a variety of reasons, I would like to encourage everyone to follow up with the maker of the knife they get. The first and last KITH I took part in, on another board, really kind of burned the joy out when I never heard back from the guy that got my knife. It might not seem like a lot, but even a simple thank you would go a long way after someone busts their butt to make something they hope you like and can use. Not hearing anything back after spending all those hours in the shop, even having a custom sheath made, always leaves you wondering.

So, take a minute to drop the maker a short note of appreciation, critique, or maybe some pictures of it in use.

Whoa, Stan that is very nice. Half nekkid is fine and no I don't mind if it is broken in the middle and I bet whoever gets it won't mind either. Happy Thanksgiving.

I had to let this years KITH pass me by.
There's some beautifull knives being entered! My compliments to everybody.

Becoming a 1st time father consumes a lot of workshop time.
But it is off to the workshop tonight, I'll be the first one to have his 2011 entry ready :D

That is one beautiful piece of work, I would be scared to do anything with it other then show it off:eek: There are going to be some very happy people this KITH season

As the first of December slips closer. I am hearing from several that they are unsure if they will finish in time. I am going to extend the deadline to midnight Dec. 5 to give you all one extra weekend.

I think this will allow those who are

After having one of the ladies at the store draw the names, I will try and email all with their shipping label info on the 6th or 7th.

For those who wonder how the draw works, I have the names on slips of paper. One set of names is green and one red. The gals pull out one green (TO) and one red (FROM). After making sure the name isn't the same, they staple them together. I take it from there and email the shipping labels to the senders.

I will then post a "Woo-Hoo, My KITH Knife Arrived" thread, where you can comment on the knife , as well as let us know it arrived. An email to me as soon as the knife arrives is also much appreciated.

Here is my offering. It's actually been done for a couple months, but it took me awhile to get the photos taken and uploaded.
It is a 5" blade of D2 with stainless steel guard, ferrule, and butt cap and a stabilized maple burl handle.

Hello Guys this is my effort. A mystyke belt knife.
A 4" , .120 thick D2 carbon steel. Scandi to zero grind, very very sharp.
Handles are in a laminate wenge, maple, pink ivory, worked in 3d and then polished like hornm, with brass fittings.
Just the final polish, a strop on the blade and the sheat and it is ready to be shipped.
Something ready to be used and a lot.
