TFin, i might have another go at it next week, now that i fairly have a base camp. i also have a little more than half of the wood i cut still up there, so it wouldn't take much work to polish everything up and make it more comfortable...
 
Count me in.. With all the burning out there. Most of the places i could have gone to were closed.. I just remembered of a place i been too a couple of years ago geocaching. So im not sure what i would find there this time of the year. I never did have a small PSK as i dont realy belive in them.. I always carry a backpack with one pouch set up as my PSK. Im not as good as most of you guys so i always carry a little extra. I hope that is o.k. If my job permits i should do it in middle of next week. One last Q do i need to acomplish something or just survive for 24 hours???

The only requirement is to learn something, come back and tell us, and document your experience with pictures. Go for it!

I didn't want this to fade into obscurity.

I've been at deaths door since Thursday. Seems I've come down with a nasty virus. I've been living on NyQuil and sporadic sleep since then. Even passed on a last-chance firearm deer hunt with a friend of mine set for tomorrow morning.

Since I'm not going to be able to participate, I'm looking forward to seeing who the winner will be.

I'm going to cuddle up with a box of kleenex. Y'all get out there and have some fun. With any luck, I'll get the lid back on the NyQuil before I pass out :p .

Deadline coming up, anybody else going to get out?

I have been trying for weeks now to get out. Between family stuff and killing a cold I haven't had a chance. I am working my hardest to get out next week before the deadline and get some pics up.
 
I'm intrigued and motivated. Last week was the worst snow storm since 1961 in this part of Scandinavia,now it's melt melt melt and everything is sodden and the rain pours ceaselessly. It's a REAL challenge to get anything to burn except a stove....big risk of pneumonia too but that's part of the allure.....
 
Sooo......since only two or three of us has submitted that means my chances of top three prizes are high, right? :D
 
I was really hoping for a bigger turnout. I will be in contact with John about the contest when the date is up, hoping we can get some more people in here!
 
Didn't get out the other weekend, maybe, just maybe this weekend I'll go out for a night. Not sure, though. Just haven't decided if I want to freeze for a night or not.
