HK, I love it. A very well prepared dog.

Tinbanger, I can't stop thinking about that camp knife! I really like everything about it. Saber grind, nice point, awesome handle. Have you tried any types of smaller carving? The blade height and handle make it look like as awesome yet compact chopper. Anything that makes a GSO 6 look small has got to be a beast! How thick is it?

Guy knows infinitely more than I do, but I would think a longer handle on the redesigned 10 would be a benefit. Since the 12 lacks the finger grooves I'm really wondering if the new 10 will follow that philosophy.

Silver Needle, quit all the chatter and get back to pics. Also, stop talking to yourself!
 
Silver needle, I haven't had a chance to do anything with it other than carve up some steaks. Which it did very nicely. I'll let you know when I get a chance.

Today was a great day! Now I'm looking forward to the First Friday Update even more. I'd love it to say something like "Silver Needle's 5's will be shipping out today!".

Same here! I ended up ordering one for myself and another for my friend. I think they're just waiting on sheaths so it may not be to long.

Yeah! This waiting on sheaths thing is pretty hopeful. I'm sure there are many many 5's that were sold, but the idealist in me would like to think that the blades are sharpened and handles assembled and they just have to stick them in the sheaths and send them to me! Maybe we'll find out more on Friday.
 
I'm just going off of their production schedule on this one. It'll be exciting to hear what's going on this Friday!
I'm really curious to see the new lineup of knives coming out especially the 4.7!
 
That's the only information I have as well. In my fantasy world I'll get my factory first and second 5's at about the same time even though I ordered them months apart.

Those are going to help me wait for my 4.7 =)

Man I wish I would've bought 2 GSO 5's for myself!! I'd love to have one for normal use and have one stashed in my SHTF container in my van.
They'll definitely help the wait for the 4.7 considering they're so close. That new handle design and the flat spine on the 4.7 already make it a winner in my eyes! I can't wait!
 
Buying 2 was never part of my plan, but the low price was just too much for me to resist.

And leave it to Guy to improve on a design (or rather a whole line of knives) that can't be kept in stock anywhere!

Yeah it's hard to imagine improving on the existing models but it seems like they have! I still want a new 4.1 but I really don't want it to tarnish the love I have for the ones I have now.

Ha, yeah I know what you mean. I've seen youtube videos where guys have an older model like the old EDC 4 with the exposed lanyard hole or an old 4.1 in a different steel and they still like them. Hard to resist an update, though.
 
3 flavors. Just received the 4.1 second. Both 3.5's are seconds, with the center being S20cv that was purchased second hand. The 4.1 is beefy, probably all the knife I will ever need.
