I couldn't type through the drool. Really envious of your dandy target there. Looks well used and well loved. One day I will have to give archery a serious try. Not sure why you were shooting at that knife though, but it looks like you almost got it.

:p

Sweet Bailey, Bailey!!

Damn.

Good work, Dubz, but don't stop making backup plans!

"almost"??? Those arrows are CLEARLY touching that knife....my skill as an archer is undeniable.

'Course, my skill as an archer is mediocre - so that's an easy claim to make. Tho I did work hard to achieve just the right patina on the target. Shooting out the bullseyes is the mark of a total amateur. For a great patina, I place arrows all over the target face....to give it that even, well-worn look that those bullseye shooters will never achieve.

You drool that much? You should see a doctor....or maybe fetch yourself a drool bucket.

You are more than welcome. Looking forward to seeing your creative use(s) of it.
Species, near as I can guess....
1st "row": cherry & purpleheart, with two pieces of philippine mahogany (now it's called "ipé", afaik) under the purpleheart.
2nd row: more cherry, sapele(?), another (?), quarter-sawn white oak, mayan walnut.
3rd row: quilted maple, red birch, padauk, mayan rosewood.

You've been to BeckerWest, no? I really think that the reason this particular sub is so awesome is that it's not JUST on the internet.....a lot of us have met, or talked on the phone....and knowing, myself, how great the Gatherings are and the friends I've made at them....just translates into kinda, uh....knowing that we are pretty much ALL like that. And if someone hasn't been to a gathering, they can see from the threads and the pictures that there are real people on the IRL side of the screen. ]

Awesome thank ye!

Yes'ir, I helped start Beckerwest. I've also been to one out east. Amazing people all over! And I think that you're very right. Meeting people face you face, exchanging contact info, and talking outside of the forum certainly helps keep this place awesome.

oh, it's you that ruins my target faces :D

NO ONE had anything to say about this? I put a lot of work into editing this photo from sub-par to.....mediocre.

Sorry, I haven't been around! And I do have somethig to say about that knife.

"DAAAAAAaaamn!!!!!"

That is all.

GSOM, not only do you have a sweet blade your generousity is fantastic.

I was on a mens' retreat over the weekend, it wasn't all that outdoors-y but we still managed to shoot some bows for a while, renewed my interest in really learning how to shoot properly. If only I had the funds to get a proper recurve, or lived in a neighborhood that actually had backyards rather than alleyways. The downside to living in the city, have to drive an hour to go anywhere where outdoor activities are feasible.

Surgery went well yesterday 👍.

At home now resting. Good to see I didn't miss much 😀

Heal up quick, TBL. And when the PT tells you to do something, do it. The exercises they give you after shoulder surgery hurt like a sumbitch to do CORRECTLY, but following their prescribe routine will always work out better than not doing them.

I know several folks who wimped out doing all the exercises because the "hurt", but those exercises are designed to stretch and loosen up the ligaments, tendons and muscle bundles that atrophied prior to surgery and during the immobilized recovery post-surgery.

Thanks brother! Just want this nausia to go away now. Whatever they used on me was harsh.

Little birdie told me there may be some contest knives coming to inject a little pep into the step of the Ka-Bar and Becker forums. Fingers crossed.

Glad the butchery went well.

Went for a walk in the woods yesterday. BK12 along for the ride, but didn't get any pics of it. Beautiful afternoon to be out.....made me feel like EVERY afternoon would be a good one to be out.....
