Congrats on the house! When are you moving in?

Thank you! Supposed to be August. The seller is expected to move to his apartment around that time.

Congratulations on the house, Gshark.

YKWTS, POIDH.

Well, as I said we'll get the key in August so... And after that it still needs a bit of work. Pics at a later stage ;). The fun thing is that it does have a bit of a yard, and behind that there's only meadows and trees. Which is nice.

Sweet. Congrats!

Thank you!

Dang, I had to Google that one and found it in the Urban Dictionary. Zz, I didn't realize you had gone so big city.

Congrats, Gshark!

Thanks!

Congratulations!

Edit: Multiquote is weird.

Thanks!

Aaaaaaand, thanks!

Seller agreed on price offered. Docs still need signing and all but the real estate broker is fixing the papers this weekend. Signing supposed to be on Monday. Pretty psyched though.

Been watching Santa Clarita Diet for most of the day. Friggen hilarious. Lots of cussing though, not a family show.

9 days out.

What blade are you getting your significant other for Valentine's Day?

Ok, glad I wasn't the only one. Thought it was some weird navy lingo…

Hey, even out here in the boonies, we got this thing called "the internet". It even works on rare occasions. :D I'd seen it on Facebook occasionally and hadn't had an opportunity to use it. Besides, it uses 12 characters instead of 48. Sometimes I get lazy typing.

Navy Acronyms are seldom strung together. You might have multiple acronyms in a sentence, but never nothing but acronyms. That would be too weird even for the Navy. :D

Hawt.
But I hate swinging blades toward my head, so I'd pick the small Hudson Bay instead.

Nessmuk dug it :D

i like dual edge double bits... perhaps me...

the designer of that has a hawt new sheath system coming too.

course, they also do non double bits in 5160. this alloy makes me happy.

also, you'll be pleased to note, i'm using those marking knives :D

The 5160 IS appealing!

I'm aiming to learn a thing or two from Nessmuk (see knifemaking/modification thread), but the double-bits terrify me. I have one, renovated it, love it. But mostly from a distance.

Yay marking knives! Make pics in use!

Daizee, there is a whole lot of satisfaction in the "thunk" made when a double bit axe hits the target butt, full spin from about 23-25 feet away. The "thunk" of a DB is just so much meatier sounding that what you get out of a standard throwing hawk or a hatchet. I have a pair of 2-2s, a 3 and a 3-2 that I throw and have another dozen awaiting handles. The 2-2s sweet spot is right at 23 feet (with 28" or 30" handles). For 36" handles on the bigger (3-2, 4, 5) heads, I have to drop back to 25 feet.

baton that

Do you know if they will sell the head only? The 16" handle it comes with would make for nice throwing, but for competition throwing, I need a 26" minimum handle. If I gotta change out the handle, it would be easier if it came already haftless.
