Old Friends Friday

Nice one Jer! :D

I used to see one, in carbon, looked quite old, in an antiques shop in York. It was overpriced though, and the seller didn't even know what it was. It was there for YEARS! Wouldn't take an offer. I went over post-Covid, and the seller wasn't there anymore
Perhaps that will be a lesson to him!

A good scotch and a 45 year old stag beauty.

I used to carry this old IXL a lot, and find it a great knife. Just a shame it's got the wrong foot! :D I spotted it in one of my cigar boxes the other day, and thought I'd enjoy carrying it for Old Friends Friday :)

That has so much richness to it's coat. I bet you could write a book about it's travels. Very nice.

I don't know, that's almost a borderline foot.

I gave this to Dad for Christmas, maybe very early 70s.

Yeah, wouldn't take much sharpening, but I always think that a Sheepsfoot is always a Sheepsfoot, even when it's a worn Sheepsfoot :) That's very handsome mate :)

Thanks.
It looks like Dad carried it more than I thought, even though it has bolsters.
One thing about a shadow pen, it's easier for the blades to get crossed and set that way, though none of Dad's did that.

Yes, I see quite a few like that Jer, particularly where the cover material around the pivot pin(s) has chipped 👍
